We arrived for a family members Birthday, and had a guest come from overseas as well for what should have been a great holiday. Upon entry to the house, it looks very nice, which is expected when you are paying that amount of money to rent the house per night - so make no mistake, it was not cheap. But you only need 30 minutes to realize the house is in rack and ruin. The sliding door to the bedroom had fallen completely out its rails, and not only a safety risk, but there was a 20 cm gap that was open the entire holiday as it could not be closed (wind and insects flying through the door all day and night long). The duvets were on the bed, still completely wet (they had not been dried after being washed), half the bathrooms were missing towels, or the towels they had were badly stained, and many of the lights around the house would not work. On top of this, the majority of the table lamps did not even have globes in them. We tried to contact the rental agent 'Rehana', who appears to be a one-man show, but she did not answer our phone calls (not one of the several phone calls), but responded a day late via SMS to say the maid and handyman would be around the next day. This fixed nothing and nothing was addressed!! We found broken floorboards, the electricity shorting (and giving you a shock when you touch appliances), lights in the fridge not working, and it goes on and on. On day 4 of our 6 day stay, the 'director' of rental agency I assume came round, and told us we should 'expect' wear and tear, and that they had fixed the place up before we arrived. This was not wear and tear, the house was in an extremely poor state!!! I called out all the larger issues, and let the small ones slide, only for this 'director of the agency' to tell me that someone would come back that day to fix the sliding door that had fallen off its rails - but no surprise, no on arrived at all and the bedroom door (to the outside) was wedged open the entire trip. Nothing else was fixed either! I then highlighted that there was no microwave, after which the 'director' responded saying "the owner of the house does not believe in microwaves", which is a disgusting response. There is a massive gaping hole in the kitchen unit where a microwave previously was, and whether the owner believes in microwaves or not, if he is renting the house out as a self catering unit, for the amount that is being charged, he sure as heck better make sure there is a microwave for guests. A microwave was however delivered later that day, as I suspect the 'director' of the agency knew what a bad state the house was in and was not fit for rent!!! Needless to say, he did not show his face again, and did not fix anything and left the house in the poor state it was in. Zimbali Condo's agent 'Rehana' took absolutely no accountability, and did her very best to avoid providing any assistance, and made her self very difficult to contact. Given its a one-man mickeymouse company, there was no one to escalate to, so I strongly recommend avoiding ever renting with Zimbali Condo's and any of their rentals. Zimbali Resort itself is beautiful, it was just such a shame a house in such poor shape gets rented out, and the rental agency had their money, so they did not care to assist. As I say, avoid Zimbali Condo rental company, and avoid renting 16 Milkwood Rd. There are lots of other rental companies and other beautiful houses.
