Emergency services
I am extremely disappointed with the service we received recently. One of our neighbors was in distress, struggling to walk due to a leg injury. As concerned neighbors, we rushed to her aid while waiting for an ambulance to arrive. She could barely make it to the bathroom on her own. When we finally managed to contact the ambulance service, we were informed that our area was considered a red flag zone and required police assistance for safety reasons. While I understand the importance of safety protocols, it was frustrating to wait two hours for the ambulance to reach us, especially considering we live in a gated community in Protea Glen. This experience has left me worried about the reliability of emergency services in our area. If a similar situation were to happen to us, would we also be labeled a red flag zone? It is concerning, especially since we pay for medical aid to ensure we have access to timely and efficient healthcare when needed.

RISK TO THE NATION
Very disappointed and frustrated, my little brother experienced a query CVA on Monday (05/09/2022) evening- and I say query because clinically he presented with the symptoms of CVA and also has a history of TIA that he had in the past, the ambulance service that responded- (Ambulance number- A81, Moot crew), did not take his currently condition of the patient in mind (confused, nonverbal, Right sided weakness etc.), and his medical history, they did not provide or give my little brother any oxygen and the ALS did mention that his pupils are dilating but did nothing about those indications, IN MEDICINE- WE TREAT A CONDITION BASED ON THE SYMPTONS UNTIL PROVEN WITH SCIENTIFIC DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS LIKE A SCAN, which was not done, he was then walked to the ambulance outside no stretcher was used, the ambulance then did not even drive as fast or show urgency to the hospital while commuting, we then got to the casualty and the ALS was not even there to hand over to the nurses, he left an incompetent BLS to deal with a ?CVA patient, and he was very condescending and discredited my brother's condition. OUTCOME OF THE SCAN: ACUTE INFACT IN THE OCCIPITAL LOBE TOGETHER WITH A HEAMORRAGE. In conclusion, if my little brother had been treated as a CVA patient until proven otherwise, he could have had a better outcome, he is in ICU fighting for his life now. I will not leave this lying down as our community is at risk, I'm advocating for everyone that is not familiar with clinical protocols or management thereof. Accountability and responsibility need to be taken drastically

Terrible service
On the 16th of August 2022 I Mr Nxumalo had an emergency case at home. I called 911 emergency ambulance at 23:22. I was told that they will transfer my call to 112 because they attend Mlazi. I am highly disappointed because I do have a medical aid and pay for the service that I was denied. I would like to know what was meant by "112 attend Mlazi" yet I pay for the service. So 911 only attend suburbs at night? What about us who stay in the township areas yet we pay for better service? I request for a call to explain why township are not attended at night, why are we denied service we pay the department for. My contact number 0787034444

BAD SERVICE
I had an emergency at 6:30am I then called for an ambulance of which they took my details as if they were coming, 2 hours later I call just to follow-up they then be rude to me saying the ambulance has been dispatched it's on the way. At 10am I call again same response. Ended up taking my child to the Drs rooms myself coz the ambulance never arrived

Dissatisfying service
Very rude paramedics.ambulance took a long time to arrive which put my life and my unborn babies child at risk since I was in labour.the drivers behavior was absolutely atrocious. He had no care in the world and he went as far as wanting to drop me off outside the hospital.
