I would put zero stars if I could. Disgusted at poor customer service. On the 28th Jan 2021 my mom and I came to Aandal’s from Randburg and purchased 2 bags of “up-to-date” potatoes at R80.00 a bag (R160.00 in total). We only opened them on Sunday (31 Jan 2021) and they were smelling, the potato bag was wet and the potatoes were rotten. Due to the fact that we live in Randburg we were only able to go back to Midrand the following Friday (05 Feb 2021). On arrival we were greeted by a lady who advised us that she could only process returns within 24hours, and that the owner could only process returns longer than 24hours. Unfortunately, the owner would not be available for the day and may only come in after 3pm. We were at Aandal’s at 10am. When we asked what do we do now, she implied that we return when the owner is in maybe at 3pm. Then another gent stepped in to try “assist” the situation as he was “looking after” the store in the owner’s absence. We explained the situation to him and he told us that – he is aware that the potatoes were rotten from their supplier. After asking him if we needed to drive all the way back to Randburg and return to Midrand when the owner is “available” he called her. Only for him to tell us that she said that we cannot get a refund or return the potatoes – END OF STORY. So they are selling back produce, and wont even let you exchange when they are completely aware that they are selling inedible produce. Please check produce in stores or at home IMMEDIATELY because if its longer than 48-hours you won’t get any assistance just appalling attitude.
