I am absolutely beyond furious with the shocking service from Afro Books, located at Engineering Road, Unit 8 Engineering Cl, Kya Sand, Randburg, 2163. I purchased and paid for a book that was supposedly available, only to be told after payment that the item is not in stock — and from what I experienced, it seems like nothing they advertise is ever actually in stock. This is completely unacceptable and deeply misleading. On 31 January I was promised a refund. First I was told it would take 3 days, then suddenly it became 10 days, then 14 days, and now it has been 19 days and I am still waiting. Every time I follow up, I get the same run-around and empty excuses. This is not just poor service — it is dishonest and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the lady at reception is extremely rude, dismissive, and shows absolutely no interest in helping or resolving the issue. Customers are treated like they are a nuisance for asking for their own money back. At this point it honestly feels like a ****. How do you run a bookstore with no stock and hold on to people’s money for weeks with zero accountability? This business needs to be reported and investigated. ⚠️ DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. You will pay for items that don’t exist, struggle to get your refund, and be treated with complete disrespect. This has been one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had.

Will never use them again, books ordered November and still books outstanding. Can only deliver last books middle February. Not prepared to speak with publishers with who they have the relationship with to help the child who paid for her books to assist with digital version. Caxton books is the way to go😡😡😡😡😡

This organization takes orders and don't deliver at all. They don't take calls for follow up on orders or respond to emails, not even an acknowledgement for a received email. Then they will go and lie to the schools about parents not doing this or that when they fail to deliver so they can buy themselves some more time and still fail to deliver.

I ordered and paid for textbooks on the 19th Dec 2024 and send the PoP. Later received an sms that the books have been delivered went to school and I was told ,there are no textbooks that have been delivered. I took it upon myself to follow up and called I didn’t like the way I was spoken to. I was told that the books will be delivered before Friday. I haven’t received any communication yet. The student is new and she’s struggling with her studies as she needs the textbooks to guide her especially with her homeworks.

The worst book supplier my daughter is missing work.i called them on the 20th promised to deliver next day and still no delivery or communication.From now on i will go somewhere else.i do not know why Curro refers us to these people.Am so so angry at how my daughter is missing up.How can an order take a wholemnth to fulfil.Why do they take money if they do not keep stock.this is crazy either refund me or deliver my daughter s books by 23 January 2025.So unprofessional at everything

Why do schools recommend we buy from these people is beyond me. They are so rude and unprofessional on their email replies. They lack a sense of urgency, they are just useless and I blame schools for recommending such useless business

I ordered 4 Zulu books on the 16th Jan 2024 and to date haven't received my full order. I ordered books for a child in matric. If you don't call to follow up they do not update you. Their service is pathetic My order number is 6063

Placed an order for a book on 30 December 2021 and paid online. Have not heard from the supplier since. Sent them an email on 5 January to confirm if they have received my order and payment, but received no reply. Sent an email to all directors and staff of the company on 10 January to confirm again if my order and payment was received. None of the directors or staff reacted or replied. On the 12th of January another email was sent to all staff and directors and no one still replied. Be careful when visiting their website or placing an order!
