I am having the most terrifying experience as a parent with Akeso, Kaya adolescent unit in Claremont with my 13 year old girl who is locked up there like a prisoner.
When I took her there post a **** complaint and suffering trauma and anxiety, I was welcomed and assured of their open family principles and many promises of the family environment.
Well this is more than 40 days later they absolutely refuse to discharge my daughter who is beginning to give up being so homesick. She started having seizures and I had to beg them to take her to a Mediclinic and they would not even tell me where she was. My visitation and calls to her are severely limited for no reason and I cannot get a report or proper feedback from any of their team members who work with her. She was also accused of being a drug addict which thank God through forensic evidence has been cleared up as their mistake but they put her through hell saying she must confess on where she found drugs and used this as a reason to keep her longer. Now that this is clear they STILL refuse to discharge her. It is heartbreaking. Im getting calls from the press I am sure this story will break soon. She is also told she must stop lying that she was ****d. This is criminal behaviour. This is all controlled by an outside psychiatrist but I do hold AKESO accountable as they are standing by and allowing a minor child to suffer such trauma. Netcare - you have to look into this if this is happening with my child I cannot imagine how many others there must be. The veil of secrecy and the jail like conditions are shocking and this will cause your beautiful brand serious damage. This is the worst place of horror I have ever come across in my life - more so as it is done to a young child by adults and professionals.
