I have been a regular patient, due to fibromyalgia, for the past years.I booked in on Monday 13/01/2025.I noticed how the staff and attitudes have changed, everyone seemed demotivatated.Upon entering my allocated room I immediately smelled sweat and a smell similar to dirty socks.A gentleman was sleeping in the first bed fully clothed and covered in blankets.I raised my concern regarding hygiene and was told that this gentleman refuses to wash himself. The bathroom was dirty and smelled of urine.I complained to nursing staff who rep**** OK.I asked them to take action and the response was ,what must I do? Total lack of caring. My folder was at the nursing station and when i required a stronger dosage of medication,I was told to wait until the next day.Nurses told me they don't know what Fibromyalgia is,yet she had my folder in her hands. The hospital have a smoking section ,new rules introduced after 11pm no one allowed to leave ward and i suffer from chronic insomnia and my only vice is cigarettes.I noticed patients complaining about the lack of tea and coffee, wrong medication and incorrect dosage. This place used to be pleasant, but change in management made it miserable.Nursing staff don't care exception for 2 nurses only who are still trying their best despite the circumstances.Management have implemented so many changes and policies, that the most passionate and caring staff left this facility. You only have half an hour to eat and nurses will come to dining hall insisting you must see Dr immediately and eat later ,for a normal check up.Akeso Milnerton will never see me again.Staff arrogant, and dare I say it ***********.Yes there are the few employees who still go the extra mile, but majority only there for the salary.I lodged 3 complaints none were attended to.The unit manager never involved himself regarding my complaints. This Hospital charge R18 000 a week for non existent service and arrogant staff do not care for patients.

The Psychiatrists/doctors sent me for an MRI and CT scan shortly after I was admitted, I went for the scans the same week and I stayed the full 21 days without them giving me my results. I am getting anxiety because they are not giving me my feedback. I have called, whatsapped and even emailed the doctor and secretary. I have even gone there physically weeks after I have been discharged and I was told that I would be sent my results. I have yet received my results.

Their admission is very bad it's even worse once you get discharged. I was suppose to go back to work gradually as my Psychiatrist suggested my OP who is Stephanie Kriel didn't attend to that, she ignored all my attempt to communicate with her until I was back at work. As an outpatient it's been 2weeks going for the 3rd 1 this week waiting for the sick note from Dr Tinashe so I can apply for leave of absence at the university. Once you are outside you are on your own the only thing they care about is money, they are so quick to book appointment yet fail to attend to your needs.

I suffer from Fibromyalgia and Major Depression.Admitted to Akeso twice for pain management. The receptionist Olivia made me feel so welcome assisting with obtaining authorization from my medical aid.Nursing staff are amazing especially the Nursing Manager,Sister Titus,Janet and her colleagues.Mr Chauke is a terrific problem solver always available and always listening. The wards are cleaned daily, gym facilities and exceptional food.I never liked hospitals but Akeso is more like a family home.My gratitude to Hospital Management and staff and especially Tseko Cleaning Services and Fedics food amazing service.Akeso is like my second home now and they deserve all the praise I can bestow on them.May God Bless this institution and the staff members.

I have been here several days and so far found the staff amazing and facilities great and the treatment prices so far amazin. Today however one of the clients repatativly tried to smuggle drugs into the clinic and even the other day was cough using drugs. The last few days he has been making very inapropritiate ***ual advances on many of the vulnerable girls. Myself and many of the patients complaint at length to the duty nurses and all the was done was a note was added in the duty book. Tonight it got so out of hand that one of the patients had to break out and summon the police for these girls and he in fact got into trouble not the perpetrator himself. I am a medical professional in my own right and never have I seen such poor management of a situation ever. Agnes sion and ***ual harassment that is not cared for by staff with vulnerable people is in jo way ok. I have seen much better care at the worst of government facilities. The police did not interview or take any statement and the nursing stuff told me to just go away
