OUTSTANDING WORK ETHIC AND AFTER SALES CARE!
We contacted Al from Al Awnings Cape Town in 2018 to build and install our louvred awning and sails. The product is beautiful quality and Al's guys really did a top-notch job! They met deadlines and we were comfortable with their presence while they got the work done on our premises. There was a bit of an issue with threading on the sails after the warranty period passed but Al went beyond what we expected to get it sorted out and we are extremely pleased with his business ethic and integrity as well as just how much he wants previous customers to stay happy. Al's aftercare is amazing! Thanks so much!

BUYER BEWARE - Liquidated!
I contracted Als Awnings in February 2019 for a brand new roof on the basis that Jason Lithgow and Albert van Wyk were such nice people. I paid the deposit of 50% (R30k) quickly and initially, the service and work were excellent. The balance was paid upon completion (in winter) with the guarantee that the roof would be repaired if any leaks happened until the end of summer in 2020 (1 year) From there it went downhill... To date, I have had 4 separate outsourced contractors that Als Awnings has contracted all of which have been dismal. Any repairs done are of incredibly poor workmanship. I've had a damaged table and carpet due to water damage. My roof leaks like it has holes in it (see images and videos on facebook and google reviews). Al reckons it's the gutters but the leaks are where his team has fixed the rivets to the structure - stupidly it has been done on the bottom of the corrugate - Al insists this is the best way. There are blobs of silicon now everywhere and where on earth will silicon meant for inside repair jobs hold up outside in African elements??? I have had countless promises (all evidence in writing via WhatsApp) to have the work guaranteed and leaks fixed only to now get a notification form Albert confirming liquidation of the business that is Als Awnings - he has opened a new business called ALPS awnings and continues to trade which is, in my opinion, illegal. BAD AFTER SALES SERVICE ON A LEAKY SUBSTANDARD PRODUCT
We installed their Louvre awning on our patio about 4 years ago. There is a leak and blockage on one of the gutters which is causing the awning to peel. We have been trying since last year to get hold of the Cape Town representative and he just does not even bother to come back to us! The after sales service is appalling and from the reviews on their page it seems that this is a problem a couple of people have had!! Disgusting, i would not recommend them at all.

Hail damaged awning and no feedback received regarding insurance claim
Al Awning installed my patio awning some years ago. The awning was damaged in a severe hail storm on 12 Nov 2017. My insurer requires 2 quotes for repair or replacement. I have placed details on web site and also phoned head office and Pretoria branch but no reply. What more must I do? Most frustrating and customer service is lacking!

Canvas blind scam
A representative from Al Awnings, Jason Lithgow from Johannesburg gave me a quote for a set of patio canvas drop-blinds of approximately 10,5 metres in width. The colour was to be a dark brown. Delivery time was 6 weeks from date of order, 16 May 2017. A deposit of R11 582 (50%) was paid the same day. 15 weeks after order Jason had not managed to source the material to install. After many phone calls to him about 18 weeks after order he declared he felt embarrassed and would make a refund of my deposit. 19 weeks after order no payment had been made and Jason felt that his boss Albert van Wyk , located in Cape Town would need to pay the refund. Albert was cordial on the phone and assured me he would make the transfer the same day. 21 weeks after order Albert is still dodging my phone calls. He does not acknowledge voice messages, sms, or WhatsApp messages. Please people, if considering an awning or canvas blinds, do not even consider Al Awnings. They are scam artists. Great service and great product!
<p>We had awnings installed on our Patio back in 2013, not only did Al's come in the cheapest by far but we felt the most comfortable with their service offering. More than 4 years later down the line we had some after service requirements (Maintanance, especially after the BIG Cape Storms) that needed to be looked at. Everything was done promptly and our awnings are beter than new!</p>

Great service and great product!
<p>We had awnings installed on our Patio back in 2013, not only did Al's come in the cheapest by far but we felt the most comfortable with their service offering. More than 4 years later down the line we had some after service requirements (Maintanance, especially after the BIG Cape Storms) that needed to be looked at. Everything was done promptly and our awnings are beter than new!</p>

Have seen some dodgy builders in the last few months , so I was shocked when I saw the team , measure , prepare , measure again and install. Quick , neat , great job.</p> <p> </p> <p>And the shock, they came to ask me for a broom to clean up the site at the end. Brilliant. , they actualy cleaned.</p> <p> </p> <p>Will definitely recommend them. </p> <p>Thank you</p> <p> </p>

<p>I have apraoached many companies for awnings and the like, but i can honestly say that the service I got from Albert and his team at Al awnings was nothing short of phenomenal. From the day Albert came to see me and give me a very copmpetetive quote, to the day of installation was less than a week. not only this but the product delivered looks amazing as well.</p> <p> </p> <p>I would recommend Al awning to anyone and will be sure to knock on their door again if need be.</p> <p> </p> <p>thank you Albert.</p>
