Scamster: Aldo Robberts I placed a "WANTED Ad" for an air gun on OLX, that I was looking for. I was contacted by a Aldo Robberts from the Pretoria (Brits) area I presume, on Saturday night (11/4/2020) who said that he had one. We chatted via Whattap and by phone and agreed on a price.

He contacted me on Sunday morning, saying that he was at a courier company and was ready to send the item to me in Durban. He quickly sent me pics of the airgun (I later discovered that they were taken off the internet) and his SA ID.  By him sending me his ID reassured me and I unwittingly paid the agreed R600 at 8.30am Sunday (12/4/2020) via cellphone to him. He contacted me once, complaining about the long wait at the courier and again very strongly reassured me that copies of the waybill will follow within the hour. I have not heard from him since, calls go to voice mail and his Whattap is not opened.

Late Sunday afternoon OLX sent me a message saying that "Suspicious User Detected... This person has been removed from OLX. Please don't communicate with the user or exchange any money or items. Contact us for more support" He is also mentioned on Hello Peter (Aldo Robberts). Junkmail is also aware of him. He was born in November 1981.

Dear public, do not communicate with this smooth, well orchestrated, fearless individual or you will lose your money and add unwanted stress to yourself and your family. Also if you have fallen prey to him. I advise you to post your experience on Hello Peter for the benefit of other unsuspecting buyers.

The volitial situation in our country and the world presently makes no difference to "people" like this... It's a stealing and swindling business as usual for them, without the least consideration for the buyer's financial  or emotional state.

To you Aldo Robberts, I'm sure you are reading this... Refund my money. I have opened a case with the SAPS and I also have close family in the police services going up to Provincial level...they will trace you. They will also verify your SA ID number. My sources have thus far attained the ffg. information: You withdrew the R600 from a Nedbank Atm in Katlehong, Germiston. You will be caught.
