Never Fly American Airlines!! They are always late or cancel flights. We recently had a flight from Nassau to Miami - less than 2 hours flight. They charged 35$ for the first bag and thereafter 45$ (as per website and the assistant). None of their machines worked - it was chaos. Eventually got to the front of the line - suddenly they charged me 200$ for the "thereafter" bag. I had no choice because they just threatened to not put me on the flight. The next day I realised they swiped my card twice! They just refuse to pay me back! Terrible airlines!

American Airlines changed the originally booked and ticketed flight without notification. The subsequent flight was also delayed, the total delay time 8 hours. This forced purchasing of tickets on another airline on short notice at huge cost. Upon enquiry it was stated that "Instead of a refund we they are subject to receive Trip Credit", only to walk it back 5 days later with "We have thoroughly checked the concern, and unfortunately, according to our system, the request for providing Trip credits has been declined." If you want to fly an airline that takes accountability for their mess, DO NOT fly American Airlines.

Even 1 star is too much! American airlines, I cannot get your attention and acknowledgment about the atrocious treatment I received today on one of your flights. I have never been treated so badly on a flight like today. My back pack strap got stuck in another passenger's seat on boarding and I called a flight attendant, sila, to help me and she was so rude and irritated and not willing to help that she yanked my bag and broke the strap. She then denied it and refused to take responsibility. She walked off saying she cant deal with this! Her colleague, lucas, came to me twice and told me to sit down and stop complaining and that I should just let it go! Being a solo traveler and first time to USA and on american airlines, this is not living the american dream and I cant believe american airlines have hired such unprofessional and careless people! I was victimised and told off in front of everyone on the flight and yet it was their fault! They also didn't want to give me their names. I asked for the captain and they said he left long ago. I reported this to 3 supervisors at the airport and wasted 3 hours of my expensive holiday trying to log this complaint and get a solution and it really inconvenienced me as I had 3 pieces of luggage to carry, one which is now not usable and only 2 hands. None of the supervisors could really help or give solutions and the only way is via the website but I needed immediate action. With all the systems and technology in place you would think this could be sorted out immediately and easily. Is this what american airlines standards for??? Who is going to take responsibility for my broken bag and that I have to continue my holiday without my backpack?

The lousiest airline. My flight from Miami to Bogotá was delayed by eight hours, for which reason I missed a separate flight from Bogotá to Cali and had to buy another flight for nearly 100 dollars. AA did not accept any responsibility for the expense. As a “gesture of goodwill,” they only offered me a discount of 25 dollars on their own flights. I most certainly will not use the discount, as I will not fly with them ever again.

AA, I am an utterly disappointed client. Today our flight was delayed by 2 hours and then my suitcase didn't arrive at JFK from Orlando. I have been crying for hours now. It's been hours now and my suitcase hasn't even been located yet. It is like you are not even searching for it. My children's asthma medicine and me and my husbands chronic medication is in that suitcase. There is irreplaceable items in my suitcase. No pharmacy wants to assist me with a few pills without a prescription. I am stuck in NY (without my suitcase) , flying back home to South-Africa tomorrow without my suitcase. I am just praying and hoping that my suitcase will be located and returned to me. You have made my last day in USA the worst one ever. I chose to fly only AA (at a much larger cost than other local airlines) between cities here in USA the last 4 weeks whilst on holiday with my family, because AA is supposed to be to most reliable and trustworthy airline. I couldn't have been more wrong. I hope you take my complaint seriously and I truly hope that this issue will be resolved ASAP.

I am absolutely shocked at the customer service provided by American Airlines. I recently flew with them on a trip whereby my baggage was damaged and items were missing/stolen. I have contacted them through the correct portals whereby I have received one response and not a single email or phone call since. As such a massive corporation you would think that they would be better at handling situations such as these. As a frequent travellet I would NOT recommend traveling with American Airlines unless you would like to arrive at your destination with half of the belonging you packed, a damaged bag and no one to assist you.

im a wheelchair user and had to fly from south africa to California on 11 december 2018. upon my arrival i was handed the back if my wheelchair! American Airlines had broken off the handle from Los Angeles Airport to San Diego. tgey sent an assessor, said theyd be replacing my chair. as the e assessor said the e handle cant be welded back on. ive since had to return back to South Africa and American airlines are not replying to my messages! tgey already sent ab assessor who figured out the problem, but with their last email reply tgey said tge reason for delay us they are looking fir an assessor in my area!? i cannot go anywhere with my wheelchair being broken at tge back. it was broken with obvious blunt force. this is unacceptable American Airlines! this chair is damaged beyond recognition and you still haven't fixed my chair!!! the chair is my legs. Ive lost mobility in my legs after having brain cancer for several years. i dont have money to just buy a new chair. every cent goes to sustaining my medical bills. this is not a very kond and professional way of dealing with cuss, especially not disabled ones.

Still no acceptable resolution - or any offer of compensation whatsoever - after I was assaulted, insulted and repeatedly lied to by American Airlines staff last month on a flight from Heathrow to Dallas (and afterwards). Absolutely disgusted.
