If you value your property, do not use these people. They manage our block in Wynberg, and have absolutely messed everything up. They take money that is paid to owners from insurance for certain repairs, and use it to pay other bills. We have sent endless emails to David and Lynette, and they pick and choose who they will respond to. Our block is in such financial trouble because of these people and their mismanagement. A few owners are selling in our block due to their incompetence, do not use these people.

Annette Laing manage our 5-unit body corporate. They are USELESS and don’t engage on any feedback. They’re great at sending levy invoices so that they can get their management fees paid but when it comes to repairs and other issues, easy to wait months to have them resolved and not at all professionally either.

I don't know the policy about naming and shaming, and if it goes against these guidelines, please advise, and/or remove this post. I've subsequently moved out of Victoria Mansions which is managed by Annette Laing. Mike Power was the Property Manager during my stay and thus moved to David Scannell (https://annettelaing.co.za/meet-the-team/). Let's just add, I was an owner and a trustee at the complex, and whenever there was an issue, I had emailed and then called Mike Power to have the issues resolved. Not only did I get a nonsense reply, there was no urgency in the way things were handled, nor any acceptance of wrongdoing on their part. Even to go as far as to say, a broken wall, of which had damaged a tenants car, was not their fault, it is up to the vehicle owner's insurance. It is stated that the car can park there, and after this occurred, 'Vehicles parked at owners' risk' signs were put up. To date, I doubt the insurance paid to have the car repaired. I've moved out a month ago, and David Scannell had sent a levy invoice to the attorneys which was handling the transfer. The attorney had informed me, when I queried the amount, and showed me the statement. I contacted David and Michael about the error, and I had made a comment about something else, and Michael proceeded to speak about that issue, and not the current issue. The levy statement showed an amount for November and December, with an interest amount for November. Bear in mind, these amounts are to paid a month in advance. We had paid our levy statement for November, and David did not provide this NEW statement to the attorney (this is when they could get the extra amount paid). Also, we were not to pay for Dec (this is another amount they put in for) as we did not stay there any longer. We are to be refunded the amount for December (that was paid by the attorney and the interest shown for the month we did pay) This issue has been dragging for 2-3 weeks with no correspondence, and possibly not going to be until the new year, and every day, we are out if the interest we could be making on this. So, if you have a sectional title, and you are managed by Annette Laing, make sure your 30, 60, 90 & 120 days have a 0 balance, because you will be told that that is nothing, and you don't need to worry about it. My accounts were all up to date, but on their books, I'm owning money. ALSO, we were informed they DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT. Yes, no accounting department, and thus your monies will never be right.

This is by far the worst and most inhuman rental property agency ever. I will not recommend them at all, even if you think renting from them would be your dream or ideal home to stay. We are experiencing a global pandemic where most people in the country have lost their jobs and income. I had moved into the property with my wife 5 days before lockdown, a total rush. Apparently Annette laing does not do that, but i guess because we were forking over R18000 upfront they could bend a few rules. I had emailed them 3 months in advance to terminate my contract as i wont be able to pay rent and i dont want to lose on my deposit. This meant i was still paying full rent, unemployed for 3 months. This did not phase Annette laing. My wife and i have waited almost two months and not one person has viewed the place, we set up our own viewings for the place and when asked Annette laing for documents needed for the applicants, they were not prepared to assist. They instead told us that the people have to apply through them. That is nonsense. I have tried setting up mewting with their rental agents, Samantha, but she has no interest in assisting and blatantly ignores our request for a meeting. Clearing showing us that we are not important. This is alarming as there is no humanity what so ever in their business or the way aby of then conduct themselves. Try calling Annette laing and the receptionist cant even help, what do her duties entail if she can't get an agent to contact a tenant, but instead gives us the run around. Again, i will not recommend them at all. If you have a property that you would like to rent out, dont uae Annette laing anls an agency as their number 1 priority is money. Very inhuman. I hope this sheds some light on by far the worst peroperty agency in south africa. I wish i didnt even give a star, they dont deserve it.

Good day, i would like to let people about the service from this property consultants. I have had two experiences whereby i can say that this agency has no professionalism at all. A few months back on a Friday there was 3 drains that were clogged including the toilet drain. We had moved about a month when this happened. So when we flush the toilet the drain outside started to overflow. It was a total health hazard and it was after 5pm so i phoned the so called emergency number which goes to the most unprofessional office manager. I mailed pictures to show how bad this is as it needed to be sorted immediately. She said its Friday and she cant disturb the owner of the house. The owner is apparently too old and in a retirement home. But we pay rent and she is not too old to accept the money. This lady expected us to wait till the monday. I had to get my own plumber to unblock 3 drains which was clogged with pieces of cloth. I even said i have a small child and he cant be exposed to this health hazard. This agency is so cheap skate that they wont fix up the faults on a weekend even if its an emergency. So the emergency number is of no use. Also on Saturday morning we woke up for work and the geyzer was not working. I called and watsapped the office manager and she said to me that she cant do anything about it and that we dont need to bath. I was so disgusted by that. She went on further to say it cost more to fix the weekend and she had this problem and they didn't bath. Its pathetic to think a lady can say this. Its dirty. Then she say boil kettles of water but she doesn't pay my electricity bill. I am paying rent and services. If you late they immediately want their money but they cant fix up the faults. This is the worst agency to deal with. They dont have communication s****s. The manager is just rude and has no compassion for clients even though we dont live here free. We pay and expect to have proper measures in place to fix these things. She then say she is driving around the mountain and no reception. So the clients can suffer while she enjoys her weekend. They even sent me the wrong amount for services and then a sms to say i didnt pay the full amount. I went there and they never accept blame. They find excuses but wont put right the faults and run a proper agency. Its appalling.
