You do not provide a surname to your post on 7 September 2023, so I am making the assumption that I am addressing Helena Lee in respect of the Estate Late Maria Fatima Meneses. While we are fully aware that dealing with deceased estates is a traumatic and emotional matter for the family, given our decades of experience, we always treat family members and heirs with great respect and sensitivity. Client care is the core of our business.
We maintain a full record of our communications with all clients and in this regard, we have a full record of all our extensive, clear and regular communications with you while administering the estate.
With respect to the administration of the estate, despite family, legal and jurisdictional complications, this was concluded highly efficiently and within approximately one year. By any standard this is efficient.
The fee charged by Appleton was in accordance with the prescribed tariff of 3,5% (plus VAT).
All monies within the estate were transferred efficiently and accurately to the nominated beneficiaries, including you and both the cash statements and Liquidation and Distribution accounts were sent to you explained to you and discussed with you personally. No monies were lost, nor are monies missing. In fact, the value of the assets within the estate grew during the administration period and you and your father were beneficiaries of this.
Appleton has in the past, suggested holding a Teams meeting with you and your financial advisors in order to again explain fully the estate’s cash accounts and Liquidation and Distribution accounts. You have not taken up this offer. Neither had you raised your concerns with Appleton management (either the Managing Director, nor Chairman) before making your scurrilous, libelous and wholly inaccurate claims and accusations on a public platform.
In this regard, the Appleton Managing Director called you twice recently and on both occasions the call was cut without response. The Appleton Managing Director has also sent you an email inviting you to discuss your misunderstandings, which again, has gone unanswered.
