I booked this accommodation last February already but received no reminder email like are sent by other establishments. This could all be automated. Driving to Aquila, there was no information sign for the turn off from the N1 highway. I ended driving past & had to turn back. Other lodges in the area have signboards. Very poor from such an establishment. The food was mass buffet preparation & was very average although did have many options to choose from. It was very busy with day trip game drives so in my opinion rather over commercialized especially for those people doing an overnight stay. The accommodation itself was pretty good for what we paid for.

Booked the Premier Cottage for a night for our first Wedding Anniversary. Friendly staff welcomed us. The first afternoon game drive, driver very knowledgeable and helpful. We booked in and to be honest for a Premier Cottage the cottage needs some serious TLC. The wooden deck nails sticking out and panels seemed to be very old and possibly dangerous to walk on. I did not want to show my disappointment as I wanted to make our first Anniversary a special one and tried to look past the wooden floors in the room that seem to be slanting from the main stone floor, the broken blinds and the very uncomfortable bed. I thought the evening would make up and I was soon disappointed. When we arrived they seated us to a bare table with just reserved sign on the table. We sat for about 10- 15 minutes until I could not take been ignored by the lady in front that was scrolling on her cell phone. When I asked if she was the concierge as she was at a podium, she was the manager on duty in front by the entrance. Geisler or Giseler no name badge the restaurant manager then apologized and got a waitress to to set the table. Words cannot describe when they basically plonked down knives and forks on a place. I was livered and at this point reached boiling point looking at how nice the other tables were set feeling sad. Sad for the fact i booked premier cottage, the anniversary package for the room and could not even get the standard table setting we deserved as all the others received. For the experience and the money extremely disappointed and how something like this can ultimately ruin your first Wedding anniversary!!

My stay was disappointing. The staff were noisy around the rooms. Shouting and loitering about, being noisy. But the worst were the mice! Scurrying freely in the dining area, over the seats, and all over the restaurant. This is a genuine health hazard!! I will not be back.

Words cannot discribe our experience.... IT WAS ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!!! We did the 1 night stay over, it was out of this world. All the staff at Aquila were so friendly and welcoming, the game drives were exceptional, the game drive rangers are awesome.... THE FOOD was top noch!!! We will definately be back!! We have lived in Cape Town all out lives and this was the first time doing this (for my husbands 50th)... WOW Aquila, you guys are amazing!

Words cannot discribe our experience.... IT WAS ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!!! We did the 1 night stay over, it was out of this world. All the staff at Aquila were so friendly and welcoming, the game drives were exceptional, the game drive rangers are awesome.... THE FOOD was top noch!!! We will definately be back!! We have lived in Cape Town all out lives and this was the first time doing this (for my husbands 50th)... WOW Aquila, you guys are amazing!

I will copy an paste my email to them below, which they not even reply too.. shameful on them.. Email 1: Good evening, I would love to say it was an amazing day, but unfortunately my experience started terribly.. within 5 minute of putting my feet to the outside of your back pool area I injured myself.. I was in severe pain most of the time during my stay at your establishment. I am sorry to say but someone on your Team should have noticed and seen the hazard your pop up sprinklers could cause someone. The one which injured me was standing above the ground with a metal ***** protruding.. and the others were even more elevated above the grass. I am just glad my little boy did not fall and hit his head on it as this would have been a near miss accident. The incident left me in a horrific state whereas I could not enjoy myself with my family, an outing we had planned for a long time. I could not swim properly with my kids and could only attempt the experience once as my injury left me bleeding most of the time. We drove all the way from the Strand to visit your establishment and we were all so excited to see the big five and enjoy the day at your pool, it was a severe damper on everyone's moods.. I visited the Doctor today as it kept bleeding, he advised to keep it closed and let it grow closed.. as it is a bad place to put stitches... I had to drive all the way back to the Strand with this bleeding foot.. I work abroad, I am here on holiday and now I cant go to the beach, swim, go diving etc etc.. I cant even tell you how many times in the last 72 hours I bumped this toe and it bleeds every time.. I must mention Timothy was very helpful and if not for him I would have probably lost more blood. Attached pics Rudi Groenewald 0686959633 Email 2: I am shocked and more so disappointed that no one from Management reached out to me about my experience and incident which occurred at your establishment. The least I expected was someone to reach out and invite us back to have a better experience, now I have gone from disappointment to become furious in a heart beat, I can’t wear closed shoes and have to walk in flip flops daily. Because I hurt myself at your place I drove my car into the back of another vehicle and have 1000’s of Rand damage... this because of flip flop driving. I have now become angry and will have to take this further as no one reached out.

Aquilla owes me my refund from November 2022 nobody is willing to take this matter seriously, I sent numerous emails to different people in charge they chose to ignore my emails. I need my money as soon as possible, something must be done about this ignorance.
