On 28 October 2025, I paid Asetos (Rosebank) R14,999.00 (Invoice 2024228) for what was clearly quoted and confirmed as a brand-new complete upper assembly for my MacBook Pro 16-inch M2 Pro (Model A2780), including a new display and silver lid/casing.
The repair process was plagued by poor workmanship, including multiple failed repair attempts, and issues were raised directly with Asetos at the time.
During my last interaction with Asetos, I was explicitly promised that a new replacement screen would be supp**** and installed in January. Since then, Asetos has made no further contact. Multiple follow-up emails have been sent and ignored.
At this stage, the issue extends beyond workmanship to a complete breakdown in communication and accountability.
As the matter remains unresolved and the supplier has failed to engage, it has now been escalated in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.
