Roadworthy Station FAILED
I walked into Avts Roadworthy Station building and was happily greeted by the receptionist and she had great customer service. The guy who inspected the vehicle never greeted, never smiled, did not acknowledge me nothing. He checked the car called me over said the car did not pass roadworthy which I did not mind because I thought he knew what he was doing only to see that he failed the rear wiper not working when in fact I knew it works 100%. I then called him outside to show him it works and he said \I will check it next time"I then spoke to the manager on duty who had a very bad attitude and did not have very good customer service at all instead stood up for his employee and had a grin on his face all the time while Iwas explaining to him what had happened.The director/proper manager called me to set up a date to talk in which I could not make it because of work purposes"

I acknowledge your complaint, which we take very seriously and apologise if any AVTS staff member has been unprofessional.
The vehicle was tested on 17 Sept, failed for safety critical defects including lighting, brakes, tyres and steering defects. We regret that we listed the rear windscreen wiper as a defect if it was working.
When you complained about this incident, the Senior Examiner offered to re-check the car for you immediately, and you declined. This offer was repeated by the Test Station Manager by telephone, to test the vehicle again the next morning. As you have said, you could not make it.
All customers are provided with a defect list, and may come back for a FREE re-test within 14 days. There is no need to pay for another test at our station or any other station, if all the defects are repaired.
We regret any inconvenience you have had and invite you to use any of our branches for a free roadworthy test again for this or any other vehicle. Should the vehicle pass, we will gladly issue a roadworthy certificate. Contact me at 021-9344900 or 082 442 6556 or email feroseoaten@avts.co.za to take this up.
