I have been a client of Barkos for some time now. Today, I found their service appalling, I pay every month, I reached out the agent doesn't greet, the when I asked the first agent a question she said her colleague is back I should WhatsApp her which I did she blue ticked me Hayzel didn't bother to greet and just said "chomi we offline," not even a sorry we are offline i cant give a time frame as to when we would be back online but will keep you updated, I think Parow branch should do better, I pay faithfully they are not doing a paying customer a favor it is money we are bringing to the business.

I have been a client of Barkos for some time now. Manager of barko from Tibani disrespect me .I borrowed money at barko Tibani and I have problems to pay she came where I'm working place and harass me in public of my in front of my colleague and customer,my my high blood was high and I was embarrassed. My father pass away and I have to bury my father and after funeral I was broke financial and I explained that to her.

Not A Good Company to work for.If you know your rights as an employee you will not work well.If you are liked by the area manager you will work peacefully and get to get away with any behaviour.Barko is a Non compliant company,No wonder they were on the news for exploitation and overworking their employees.Its not a conducive environment to work in,the company doesn’t even hire cleaners for branches.Loan consultants are expected to take turns mopping and scrubbing the floors and making sure the branch is clean.You will thrive if you are a toxic person that comes from a very disadvantaged background and willing to do anything for money.When clients dont repay back their Loans the money gets deducted from your commission and it will be your duty to go to their homes or work place to recover the debt.Sometimes Loan consultants will be expected to take money from their own pockets to go out for collection our branch manager once instructed us to do so.She would also ask us to tell clients to make partial payments and send-cash/ewallets if they have to so we repay the loans.Forced to work overtime that is not paid,we are not even compensated with paid time off as the Labour Laws state.Resting would be determined by the performance of the branch (basically if people don’t repay their loans theres no rest you have to go collect it’s basically your fault according to company practices ).If we do collect the money you will then take from your leave days to rest,only when I raised the issue to the area manager he started pushing the branch manager to do time offs as well.On busy days from the 25th to the last day of the month you have to work 7am to 7pm.On the last day (usually the 31st) we can stay in the branch till 20:30 they will tell us we are not leaving until we reach our target.When the Department of labour comes for inspections Management would be so afraid we will speak up,we wouldn’t though.HR responses are Just a PR stunt they are very much aware of what happens in branches they just don’t care,its profits first.Work here at your own risk,definitely not worth the hassle and risk.There is no perfect work environment atleast pick a Company that complies with The Labour Practices of this Country. My name is Singathini Gumede id 7404100542080. I had a loan with Barko and the loan was paid up around 2021 during the looting. I went to Barko Bara mall and they were working at Boysen's since the mall was affected by looting. I went there and paid R7311.45 which was outstanding. I was assisted by the manager Isabela to pay and i fought after that for a paid-up letter until I got it on the 24th January 2024. I do have that letter in my position, but I'm still listed for this account on my credit profile, and it is affecting me bad. I queried this with them and now they are issuing me with a prescribed letter. according to my understanding this letter means my debt is over 5 years and it was not paid. I paid for this account in full and don't want prescription letter. I want them to update my credit profile. The people I was dealing with here is Isabela, Glory, Busi and Yvonne.. Can you kindly get to the bottom of this. the amount i paid is the same amount they say I'm owing

I made a payment on 24th of October 2025 paying off the amount that I was owing, they promised me to update my status Transunion . Even today they havent updated anything , I spoke to Trudy and Ellzette they are both USELESS especially Ellzette, she was quick to forward me the settlement but when its time to update my status she no longer replies on her email ,and I found so unprofessional and rude please fix your department and hire people who are looking for work , not this lazy consultant. before I wrote this massage I tried calling in and the made me hold for more than 10min after they hang up, FIX THIS SHIIT ORTHEWISE I WILL WRITE EVERYDAY 0780073096

I will never refer any person to work for Barko Loans, On busy days they say no one must go on leave, You work unnecessary long hours, on a Saturday it's half day from 8am-13pm but Ops and AM can decide to tell you 30 mins before you knock off that you will knock off at 15:00 reason being the Area is still behind, To everyone who want to work for Barko just know that you will no longer enjoy ur extra mural activities. And if the client didn't pay their loans it is the Loan Consultant fault and they'll deduct certain percentage on LCs salary. With my Branch Manager she was the sweetest and for that keep doing that great job.

Barko Loans has sammers as consultants!!!!!!!! I app**** for a loan with Paarl Branch and they declined me the very next day ZANDI from Cape Town Branch Golden Acre approved my loan and had no findings to decline me.Does the system not show the same thing?? After my repayment Zandi promised to process me a new loan and kept me hanging saying she is busy.After sometime about10min to closing time she told me to Whatsapp and apply.This is after she received her commission on my loan she now wanted to go according what the system reads.Why did she approve my first loan and saw everything Paarl Branch could see? Secondly whatever was reflecting has been there so how did she bypass he system to approve my loan and after repayment she now has stories. I WANT MY LOAN APPROVED AS I HAD REPAYED MY PREVIOUS ONE!!!!!!!!! I WILL BE POSTING ALL CONVERSATIONS HERE
