THIEVES/CRIMINALS/SCAMMERS/FRAUDSTERS
Piet Barnard and Nareen Duys are fraudsters. Piet was supposed to install the fireplace in my house in 2021 October. I made the payment to the company. after receiving the payment from me. they started ignoring my call until they both block my 2 cell phone numbers. I have open the case with the SAPS. They are thieves do not trust them. They even wrote the incorrect business address on their invoice. I went with the police last week Thursday to look for the address. there is no such address at Lanseria. More to the story: BE VERY AWARE OF THESE x3 DIFFERENT COMPANIES The two main culprits go by the name of Narean and Pete. It also seems that Narean sometimes uses the name "Nicole". They have been trading under numerous different names such as Fires Edge, Firetecpro and Barnfire Projects. Firetechpro/ Fires Edge/ Barnfires Project/ Fire Legend Projects
Hi Guys Please be aware of Pete and Naraen/Nicole. There were red flags. The quotation has fake addresses. 85% deposit. Change of number. Numerous company name changes. The fireplace was suppose to be ordered from Lava Fires. When I called them to follow up if Pete made the order. They said no, and they don’t deal with Pete but Naeren from Firetech Pro. Whilst Pete’s quotation read as Fire Legends Project. I began to dig further. He did poor installations with previous clients and had changed his company name numerous of time. From Fire Edges to Barn Fire and now as Fire Legend Projects, but uses Fire TechPro account to buy. He sent me the suppliers quotation after I began asking him for proof of Order. Still feeling uncertain, I called the supplier and they said nothing been placed. I called to confront him and he turned defensive. I then said please can I ask for refund. He said he will pay me back. I paid deposit end of Nov. He then said suppliers order closed. Came Jan nothing was ordered. And supplier said they were still taking orders in Beginning Dec. In the end. I lost my deposit no fire place. They are robbers and do poor workmanship and installations. Please be aware!

Terrible Service from: Fires Edge/Firetecpro/Barnfire Projects

They have been trading under numerous different names such as Fires Edge, Firetecpro and Barnfire Projects. Due to their terrible reputation in the industry and from ruining numerous installations and jobs they keep trying to change their cell phone numbers and the name of their businesses as they think that they can keep getting a fresh start and that nobody will recognize them by hiding behind new company names. Pete came out to install a Fire Place in my house in 2020 and the job was a complete mess from day 1. The fire place was not installed correctly and the waterproofing he did when installing was a complete disaster. It started leaking in the first week of installation. It was a fight to get him out to come and fix the mess he caused and to redo the waterproofing. After he came out and "Fixed" the waterproofing, it carried on leaking. I phoned and notified Pete that it was still leaking. He completely refused to help me and kept on making up excuses and avoided my phone calls. Eventually he answered one of my phone calls and told me that he is away doing work in Botswnana but I must phone him when he returns in December and he will come past and fix the leak. (Keep in mind the amount of damage caused by the rainy season to my roof and ceiling from the leak). When I tried phoning him multiple times in December he did not answer or return any of my phone calls. I sent him numerous Whatsapp messages while he was "Online" but refused to respond to me. I then phoned Narean to try and help me fix the leak and complete the installation that I paid for that her business partner Pete could not do. She told me that she hadn't seen Pete in a very long time and that they no longer work together(which is a lie as their new business brochure from Fires Edge clearly states them as business partners). She wanted to quote me almost R5 000 to come and fix the leak that Pete failed to do. I don't see why I have to pay an additional fee as this problem should not have occurred if Pete had just installed and did the job correctly in the beginning. Why must I pay extra for their mistake?? She eventually also stopped taking my phone calls and has avoided me ever since. The leak caused alot of damage and it caused my ceiling to sink and it cost me alot of money to get this repaired. I have to also pay an additional expense to get the waterproofing repaired. I paid alot of money to get my fire place installed and I cannot believe that they can treat a paying customer like this. I have seen other bad reviews about them on Hello Peter. I hope after reading this you do not even think about using them to purchase or install any sort of fire places or braai's. I really wish that I used a different company to install my fire place and regret having ever phoned Pete. I hope nobody else makes the same mistake that I did.

DO NOT USE BARNFIRE PROJECTS FOR ANY FIREPLACE INSTALLATIONS OR REPAIRS
Upon purchasing a fireplace from Lava Fires in August 2020, I was recommended to use Pete who is the owner of Barnfire Projects. Pete came to site and gave me a quote for the installation and supply of further materials of my fireplace. Upon completion of installation in early Sep 2020, and after the first heavy rainfall, it turns out that Pete's work was nothing short of a disaster as water came rushing through my fireplace and messing my floors. I contacted Pete to come through and repair the fireplace, to which he replied that he would on come on that Friday. Of course he was a no show and that got me thinking, if his installation was so terrible, one can only image what his repair work would be like. So I did not contact him again. If anyone is deciding to have their fireplace installed in the Johannesburg area, DO NOT use Pete from Barnfire Projects. His customer service and workmanship was absolutely pathetic!

Barnfires Projects create Fire Hazard and do not care
After writing a couple of weeks ago about the disgusting service, or lack thereof of from Pete at Barnfires Projects, I am now proceeding to take him to the Small Claims Court and suing him for putting my family and home in danger. Not only did he perform a shocking install with leaks from the rain pouring through, I have now discovered that, after having to sub contract a certified installer to come and remove Petrus inferior, incorrectly sized materials (Flue/Cowel), my wooden ceiling has severe burn marks around it as Pete never used the correct insulation, even after discussing this with him. New installer was horrified and believes the house would have burned down in the next Winter!! Thank you Barnfires Projects for putting my family in jeopardy even when I have mails confirming insulation! See you in court soon Pete! Readers, if you care for your family and your safety, NEVER use Barnfires Projects!

Barnfires Projects create Fire Hazard and do not care
After writing a couple of weeks ago about the disgusting service, or lack thereof of from Pete at Barnfires Projects, I am now proceeding to take him to the Small Claims Court and suing him for putting my family and home in danger. BarnFires - Never use them
After procuring a Fireplace from LAVA Fires, Pete from BarnFires Project was recommended to come and install in May 2020. After the first rains hit last week (05/10/20) the water came pouring through ruining my ceiling. Pete had not sealed the chimney/flu or if he had, it was a terrible job. Upon calling him, he asked for location which I gave. I asked him to reseal and paint (not replace) my ceiling to which he frivolously declined the painting. Wanting the sealing done before further rains came, I left the argument to paint and asked when he would come and reseal - his comment - "When I am next in the area!" I requested he come ASAP (I would have accepted a few days) otherwise I would take to HelloPeter/Lawyer and LAVA. His response "What is your problem Steve" I offered him the opportunity to come and seal again before following the above steps and needless to say, its one week later, he has blocked me on WhatsApp and refusing to respond to my SMS. Worse, he has created a fire hazard by installing incorrect flu with no insulation going through a wooden ceiling. This has forced me to sub contract another installer and having to buy another piece of piping with insulations, pay to re-install and fix my ceiling. Do NOT touch BarnFires/Peter - his workmanship is shocking and his attitude/service is even worse. This is not a "He said I said" dispute - I have everything in writing and photos.

Thank you Nicole and Pete for your excellent service. I must admit I was a little worried about paying upfront as I have been scammed before and explained this to Nicole. Nicole assured me that they would deliver and they did. Thank you Barnfire Projects for my beautiful fireplace!

Thank you Nicole and Pete for your excellent service. I must admit I was a little worried about paying upfront as I have been scammed before and explained this to Nicole. Nicole assured me that they would deliver and they did. Thank you Barnfire Projects for my beautiful fireplace!

My experience with Pete from BARNFIRES PROJECTS were without a doubt only a pleasure. I paid a deposit for my free standing fireplace and patio braai and Pete kept me up to date every second day as for when delivery will take place and when installation will happen. Have given his contact details too friends and family and will advise anyone too do business with BARNFIRES PROJECTS for the service is BEST KEEP IT UP GUYS. Very happy Client.
