What a disappointment to have to write this review. I received the best sales service from Sthe that assisted me when I bought my vehicle. Took my vehicle for the first service whereby I was notified that this is not my first service. Very confused I asked them to check with the sales lady as I bought it brand new. After this situation I had a problem with a tracker that I was told was installed it just needed to be activated. Very confused I was told that the tracker was never transferred to my name from the previous owner, as this was supposed to be a brand new vehicle. Finally, that was sorted out eventually and was explained. Around the beginning of April '24 my aircon stopped working, where I contacted the sales lady, and she booked the vehicle in on the 8th April '24. When I collected my vehicle that afternoon, I was told that the aircon compressor is not working and they will have to find out if there is any stock in South Africa or if they will have to wait for stock from overseas (Sanele from the workshop). A week later I contacted Sanele to find out the if there were any feedback about the stock where he mentioned that he was still waiting for and estimated delivery date on the stock he will contact the parts department and get back to me. NO FEEDBACK after a week so I contacted them again. Same story every week after that, started to not get a hold of him. When I left messages, I got no feedback from him. Lady at the switchboard 039 682 0007 by now knew who I were as I kept on leaving messages. On Monday the 27th of May I phoned again no answer, she asked if I wanted to leave a message, I said no as no one is phoning me back. I asked her who Sanele's manager was, and she said Ismail she will put me through to him. Spoke to Ismail, explained my story where he said he will talk to Sanele and get back to me shortly. NO SURPRISE - On Tuesday morning I still had no feedback. When I phone Ismail on Tuesday morning, were the lady at the switchboard mentioned that Ismail were in meetings, do I want to leave a message. I asked the lady at the switchboard if there were any person higher than Ismail where she said she can put me through to Philip Hawkins, but he is the dealer principal, and she is not sure he will be able to assist me, but she will put me through. Once again I explained my story to Philip, he took my name, contact nr and registration nr and said he will find out and get back to me before the end of the day (Tuesday 28th May '24). Today Friday 31st of May '24 AND STILL NO FEEDBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is by far the worst after sales service I have ever received, I never expected this kind of service from a dealership where I got such superb sales service. IT IS VERY UNFORTUNATE THAT BATES MOTORS WON AWARDS FOR THERE GREAT SALES BUT THE AFTER SALES SERVICE SUCKS BIG TIME! I am very disappointed that they are not even able to just get back to me with and estimated delivery date of their parts. Dealer principal's / Owners I hope you get to read this and make changes to your after sales service and not just concentrate on the sales!

My mother is on a service plan and as she is told and reminded when her next service is due for her vehicle as per the service was due she drove 80km very early in the morning as an abiding 68 Pensioner she drove to get her car serviced and dropped off her car at BATES MOTOR SHELLY BEACH, and went on with her business to run her errands at the closest mall, as the day progressed at 15:00PM still no call from the shuttle that was meant to pick her up, but ran to a family friend who gave her lift to the garage its now around 16:00PM she arrives and goes to admin office to check balance of her car but saw the mechanics and spoke to the but n o mention that her car has not been services and apparently the necessary equipment was not even bought to service her car and she only found out then, This is POOR POOR POOR customer service and especially for a vulendrable 68-year-old pensioner who still needs to drive about 80 -100 km in the dark hours of the night, she was then promised feedback but no one contacted her until she had to call and call for feed back , this incident happened on the 17/07/2023 and they eventually called on 26/07/2023 at 8 am that they will pick up car in an hours time so that should be 9;00am again they did not pitch my mother had to call and call as she wanted to go on with her day and they where not picking the phone only for them to arrive at 15:00pm afternoon, This is really uncalled for her to be treated with such poor manners she has never missed a payment on her installments and she pays extra for this service plan. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE on all levels, really appalling.

Bates Motors Shelly Beach - Jeep services Absolutely appalling service. Do not service your Jeep at Bates Motors. If you have a Jeep rather drive to Durban to a service center who will do the service and know the vehicle.
