I spent a week at the Hotel and there were some parts that were great and others that were not so great. Lets start with the not so great - the restaurant Jiran service is poor. Our first day we ordered a simple salad and it was not busy but it took forever and my worst experience was 3 hours for a chicken burger where i had to go check for the order myself. Staff knowledge of the menu - they need to work on that. The duty manager line/extension does not work or they refuse to answer after hours. When booking they should inform you that the hotel is undergoing renovations. although it limited to certain floors the inconvenience is visible, and they were painting one day which made for an unpleasant experience. Parking - just because you have a remote does not mean there is space to park. Your vehicle is relatively safe out on the street in front of the hotel. The Good to Great Parts The ladies at reception were great we arrived early and were ushered into our room as it was available. Kobus the porter is good and very helpful and takes pride in his work. The cleaners were excellent even when we were in the room working the whole day they worked around us. Cannot say how efficient they are. The staff in the dining room were also great especially the trainees. There were challenges like with any breakfast buffet but the difference here was how they addressed it. Like running out of glasses and waiter brought a few glasses to assist guests immediately before bringing out a tray. The frozen drinks were especially popular. Overall breakfast was good experience with very attentive and polite staff. The bar ladies at Jiran were great as well. Especially when it was busy they were up to the task. Maintenance guys were efficient as well when they came to replace the batteries on the safe. Would I stay there again - yes as its great value for money but will wait until next year when the renovations are done.

I certainly don't think this hotel deserves a 4 star, I have had major issues with the wifi, I called reception numerous times informing her I have meetings which I cannot connect, she informed me a technician will come sort it out, 3 hours later and still received no assistance I was forced to check out because I couldn't work, no empathy or support whatsoever, I would not recommend this hotel

I have stayed at the Belaire suites several times....and every time I check in theirs always this beautiful soul on the inside and out in reception her name is Nozipho i couldn't get here surname...her service towards guests is always on point not only to me but others judging by the way she smiles , her attitude and eager to always help whenever she can. You know in order to grow or upper the standard of the hotel you really need people like her, people who would always their jobs properly not because they think they are just doing you a favour, but doing it with love....i really love your hotel and will always come back because of Nozipho ☺..who knows maybe I'll merry her??

I made an online reservation at the Belair hotel via their website. Upon arrival i was told that the booking was incorrect as it was for 4 adults and 1 child under 12. We told them that is was fine, however we were told that we would get a cot for the child ( how the hell can a 12 year old fit in a babies cot). We refused the conditions and told them to cancel the booking. We were then told to pay a 50% cancellation fee or pay an additional R300+ to upgrade the room. The manager and staff were very unhelpful and we were basically forced to stay at that terrible hotel. As a word of advice don't book with them as you will just end up spoiling your holiday. There are better hotels with better rates and you will have a better stay. As an additional note, on a previous stay my phone charger literally blew up and my phone was destroyed beyond repair. The hotel failed to claim responsibility and i was left without a phone. That's two bad experiences in two stays for those keeping count. I honestly hope people use this as a note to stay far away from these guys as this hotel and staff are terrible to deal with.

STAY AWAY FROM BELAIR HOTEL AND SUITES GUYS, STAY VERY FAR AWAY.

I Booked in the Belaire hotel via there own website [URL Removed] for a 2 Night Stay 24th and 25th July 2015.
The Reservation clearly stated that the reservation accommodates 4 Adults and 1 Child (Under 12).
We arrived there at about 6:00pm on the 24th and the lady at the the desk said our room only will accommodate 4 people. We requested to see the Manger , hoping something can be done noting that this was a fault on their side. Michaela, the manager on duty was not helpful at all! She said there is nothing she could do and it was not their fault or ours!! After arguing for a while we requested that the booking be canceled. She even refused to cancel the booking ( Wanted a 50% Cancellation fee). Being exhausted, we upgraded the room at a further R300 and just stayed.
I feel this is not the way to treat customers as we were FORCED to stay there under the conditions they put us in!
WORST HOLIDAY EVER
