Belles doesn't deserve any ratings. I placed a custom layered cake order with Linda Lipschitz on whatsapp a few weeks back and paid her for the order. A day later after I paid her, she replies that she cannot deliver the cake and needs to change the cake and make it marbled instead of layers which was obviously a cheap shortcut on her part. She could not answer why she didn't disclose this initially and only did so after I had paid her. She knew well that my function was 5 days away and this was totally unprofessional and lacks ethical standards and business integrity. She refused to provide proof of payment for my refund and even that was a misson. I will never order from them again, there are much better, honest local businesses out there that we will support.

Please save your money and do not order a custom cake from this company. The cake I received looked nothing like the picture, was incredibly untidy/sloppy and they misspelled my nieces name on the cake. It’s really not worth the very expensive price tag and you risk spoiling your function by taking a chance on this very very disappointing company!!! There are definitely other cake companies out there who will take care to do a good job.

Please save your money and do not order a custom cake from this company. The cake I received looked nothing like the picture, was incredibly untidy/sloppy and they misspelled my nieces name on the cake. It’s really not worth the very expensive price tag and you risk spoiling your function by taking a chance on this very very disappointing company!!! There are definitely other cake companies out there who will take care to do a good job.

Absolutely pathetic service. They were one of the best places for a cake. Their service is down the drain. I ordered a cake for my son’s birthday. Only to find out in the day of his party. There was never a cake made. They try to throw together a cake in 2 hours and pass it off. To pay over a 1000 and receive such rubbish. Don’t ever do business with these ppl. I placed my order 2 weeks in advance. And still they couldn’t get it right. Lin does not take calls but is quick to ask for up from payment. Pathetic. On the day I had to call 2 other people to find out what is going on. If you don’t want your party ruined do not order from these people.

I requested the service of these ladies So I sent a message on whatsapp at 5pm it showed she was online she opened the message and just blatantly ignored me Again on Saturday the same thing I there after sent a lengthy message explaining how poor their customer service is and how low they made me feel to my surprise this lady sent me threatening text messages and continued to do so for the next hour I posted a review on hello peter which she then threatened to get their lawyers involved I will not stop speaking my truth until this situation is justified and until I receive a proper apology from that very rude and ignorant lady

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING!! A few weeks ago we ordered cheese cake, arrived at the office, open them up and the bottom of the cheese cake WAS GREEN & MOULDY. We immediately took it back and the owner was completely un-phased. Today we got given Red Velvet cupcakes for our boss' birthday and LOW AND BEHOLD THE CUPCAKES WERE GREENY-BROWN @ THE BOTTOM AND IT TASTED LIKE FISH!!!!! Took them back to the shop, and the ladies said -------> WE DON'T TAKE REFUNDS!!! I mean really??!!!!! DISGUSTING !!!! ROTTEN FOOD AND HORRENDOUS SERVICE.

So last week Saturday, we picked up a Ferrero Rocher cake, which we are used to getting from these guys and thus we know how it usually tastes.... The cake was for a special birthday event hence us ordering "the best". This cake was such a disappointment, as it was very dry and different to the usual that were used to. We called and brought it to the attention of Judy, one of the partners in the business, that by the way is very rude, and very arrogantly insisted that nothing could be wrong with her cakes.... We cut out 2 small slices of cake before we realised it was extremely dry and didn't eat any more of the cake, as we wanted to return it. The feedback we got was that the cake was perfectly fine, and we were offered a mini cake, with not as much as an apology, none whatsoever. Retailers usually would try keeping their clients satisfied, but not these guys. The R700 we spent at these guys is with utter regret, as I could have gotten 3 other cakes from Woolworths, who actually happen to sell fresh confectionary and have a zest for customer service.... The nerve of them offering us less than what we paid for has certainly left me with a bitter taste in my mouth....

What a horrendous, yet fortunately brief, lapse of judgement on my part in choosing Belles Patisserie as the provider of my boyfriend's birthday cake. I had ordered a rainbow log cake from Belles, Illovo. Upon collection, I had discovered that my cake was skew and utterly unpresentable. At this time, I logged a complaint - to which the man at counter responded with a wholly apathetic, 'well, there's nothing I can do about it'. Pathetic. I was then told to call Clara or Chris. However, after numerous unsuccessful attempts to reach them (via call AND email) I have given up. R550 rand, and one INCONSOLABLY embarrassed girlfriend later, I shan't be going back. Adios muchachos </3
