Unfair Treatment and Withholding of Funds by Blue Lagoon Pools Review: We contracted Blue Lagoon Pools in Sept 2023 for a pool installation at our estate. Their representative provided a quote estimate which we accepted and paid a 30% deposit (±R70,000). It later became clear that the proposed pool placement violated municipal building lines, which their representative failed to warn us about—despite repeated queries on whether municipal approval would be required. Once we discovered approval was unlikely, we notified them we could not proceed. Since then, we’ve been met with months of delays, ignored messages, and ultimately a refusal to refund the deposit. Blue Lagoon is now falsely claiming we signed a binding contract and are liable for cancellation fees—despite the only document we signed being a clearly marked quote estimate. They are also falsely claiming membership in building associations who have confirmed otherwise. To date, they have withheld our R70,000 and refuse to engage meaningfully to resolve the matter. We’ve lodged complaints with NSPI, CIDB, and the Master Builders Association (who issued them a cease and desist). We warn other homeowners to proceed with extreme caution when dealing with this company.

Absolutely shocking after sales service! This business has no interest to service or look after you once they have built your pool (which is of sub standard quality). Flow coat started peeling off after 1.5 years of building the pool. 1.5 year after re-flowcoating, the flow coat is coming off again. Poor quality electrical work, and now sit with pool lights that blow often. Reported these issues to Blue Lagoon. A month later and they have not even had the decency to call us back or respond to emails and various messages left. I now sit with a pool that is unsafe to use as the peeling flow coat poses a danger to children trying to swim, have no working lights in my pool, and what was supposed to be a show piece in our entertainment area, is now an embarrassment that we have to hide when we have visitors or friends over. I would not recommend this company at all.

After a R29 000 job, pool still leaking same as before job. Sun panels blown off by wind a week later: "sun panels are not being tied down. Standard practice". Still awaiting pavers to be replaced straight as requested before the job. Chris is unresponsive, only dashes in for quotation and you never see him again. He either do not pitch for appointments and/or do not respond to WApp's, sms or voicemessages. Numerous ripple effect breakages due to faulty work. Still awaiting him to pitch for meeting scheduled for 11/12/2021.

Our pool pump decided to stop working and Blue Lagoon Pools send the technician the next working day. He took the pool pump with and we received the quote for the replacement the same afternoon. We accepted the quote and the next morning, even without us paying yet, Blue Lagoon pools had already dispatched the technician with the new pump. Overall, form the first inspection to a new pump it took less than 24 hours and it seems to work perfectly. Very impressive.

If I could give no stars I would. We paid R200 000 for a lap pool and have had absolutely shocking results and service from Blue Lagoon Pools. Matt Herbst is not being of any assistance and keep telling us it is calcium in the water causing our 6 month old pool to look like a 50 year old Aventura Resort pool. We have asked him for solutions since December 2020, and up to now have had no help other than "I'll get back to you" and making us feel like we don't understand. We have even asked him for a maintenance contract to come and service our pool and see if they cant get it in a sparkling condition - well 3 weeks later and still not reply on that request either. Today we phone to speak to a manger, and again the call ends up with Matt - so we are going in circles. Please don't EVER use this company for your pool - they are terrible.

Absolutely bad service! With no feedback. My pool started leaking 4 weeks ago and I had Blue Lagoon Pools coming out to fix it. They have put in a new wier, and claimed the pump was also problematic. As it was still under guarantee (6 months old) they took it out and after a week, replaced it on 16/4/2021, just to have the power tripped when it is switched on. I have contacted them a number of times with promises that they will get back to me - I am still waiting....
