<div>URGENT: AVOID THIS DEALER AT ALL COSTS IF YOU HAVE A TRADE IN. If it was possible to choose zero stars, I would have. My original review was removed because they said I had entered personal information without consent. This is not true, I had only noted names of the guilty people, who all of you should be aware of. Clearly they are concerned that I had posted revealing truths about their bad practice. In essence, the salesman, always has to trot off to the Sales Manager, to get the decision on trade in figures, therefore it is fair to aim this account of my experience to him. I visited their East And dealership in late March 2025 with an X5 M50i to trade in, against a similar quality (albeit 2 years younger) model X6. They had been discussing my trade in with other dealers for c. A week and the majority of trade in offers I had received were between R1 - 1.1m. They wouldn’t give me a figure whilst I was there, they said they would let me know. And did they, an offer of R800k!! I was so angry but anyway I moved on a did trade the car for R1.1m a few days later. A little while later, I saw they still had the X6 I was originally interested in, so I made contact again by phone and told them about a different car I had the trade in. This 2nd salesman seemed very keen for me to drive over with the car to discuss, which I did (30 min drive!). After completing all the details, he asked to wait at his desk whilst he went to see his Sales Manager, for a trade in figure. When he returned, he said something very strange and familiar - Could he give me a call later with final figures 🤣🤣. Just so you readers know, just that morning, I had been offered R1.3m trade in value for this car of mine. When the call eventually came at 5.20pm (after I texted him at 5pm to remind him to revert before end of business) he sheepishly planed that they could only go to R1m as a trade in figure for my car. Now, it doesn’t take a genius to work out that on both occasions, with separate salesmen, (but the same Sales Manager), that they offered R300k less both times n 2 different cars……. If you are in the market to change your car and you are looking to trade yours in, I would URGE you to look elsewhere. They clearly operate that business by ‘lowballing’ customers trade in vehicles, that was certainly my experience on 2 separate occasions. BEWARE!!</div>

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU DEAL WITH THIS BMW DEALERSHIP! I feel I am reasonably qualified to provide an unbiased and honest review of treatment by 2 different sales people at this branch, as I have previously owned businesses within the motor trade. I approached BMW East Rand a few weeks ago with interest in an expensive used vehicle they had in stock and had for over 6 months, I had a similar value BMW to trade in and was told by the salesman Tommy, that having spoken to his Sales Manager, presumably, Shane Frandsen, that as there was a ‘comment’ on the car, they could only offer R***xx. To give you readers some context, this figure was R300k less that many other dealers had offered, including other BMW main dealers. I did then trade that car a few days later for the higher price. A few weeks later, I decided to re-approach them regarding their same car, as they still had it in stock, this time with a different BMW car of mine of higher value, newer, lower mileage and with no comments. The salesman, Sam Mashigo, took me to his desk where he searched my car value and showed me that it had a trade value of R1,745,000. After Sam returned from speaking to his Sales Manager, I presume, Shane Frandsen again, he said he would need to call me later with a trade in price. I thought that was very strange for a car dealer to allow a customer to walk out the showroom, when he’s already indicated that he wants to ‘do the deal’. I could definitely ‘smell a rat’ here and therefore it came as no surprise when I received a call from Sam saying that the best they could offer was R645,000 UNDER THEIR trade value!! The car was perfect, no comments, only 25,000 kms and had BMW Motorplan for another 16 months. He tried to defend this insulting offer on the basis that my car was a ‘niche’ car and that another dealer had a similar car at a lower price and therefore that was their justification. Even though my car was a different colour and spec, with mine much more desirable. This is twice now in the space of a few weeks that I have been badly treated and severely ’Low Balled’ with ridiculously insulting offers. I would absolutely urge anyone considering anything they have to offer, that you do your homework thoroughly and get alternative trade in offers for comparison. It is unacceptable that a main BMW dealer continues to get away with this behaviour.

Recently purchased 2023 BMW X3 in July 2024 . I took my car 2023 BMW X3 to BMW east rand Dalpark for tyre sensor malfunction. I was told that the sensor was ordered and my car will be fine the following day .the service consultant called my wife telling her to come fetch the car , upon arrival she was told the car maintenance plan is cancelled due to suspected impact damage in a Left hand side wheel which might have damaged that shock . We were never called to explain what the problem was and wat might be the way forward , however the conclusion was made without customer consent to cancel the motor plan . The reason mentioned is invalid since the car has been driving well with no issues . I am really dissapointed and stressed about this situation. The Worksop manager said I must pay for the repairs so to reinstate the motor plan . I never had any accident with the car since it was recently purchased in July 2024 with full motor plan . BMW South Africa this is how we are treated in the dealerships . No respect and communication to the customers so fourth , further more was told the magwheels are burnt and needs lousy 10k for repairs . Like how BMW

I am writing to express my deep concern and dissatisfaction with the service I received from BMW East Rand following the recall of my 2013 BMW X5 for both passenger and driver side airbags. Upon receiving notification of the recall, I took my vehicle, which I have maintained diligently since purchasing it from a dealership two years ago, to BMW East Rand. I drove 125km to get there and another 125km back at my own expense. The airbags were indeed replaced as part of the recall repair. However, post-repair, I encountered new issues that were not present before the service. BMW East Rand did not do the required checks or they would have found the errors prior to the recall repair. Specifically, after driving away, I noticed that the handbrake button does not function properly, and my cruise control has become defective. There were no vehicle information status errors before the recall and repair, but these issues have emerged subsequently. On Monday, I informed BMW East Rand about these new problems. Friday, 29 November 2024, once again at my own cost revisited the dealership around 2:00 PM, waited for an hour and a half, only to be told by the mechanic and the Production Manager that these issues were not their responsibility. I contested this, arguing that their standard protocol should include checks both prior and post any work, which they evidently did not follow to ensure no new issues arose from their interventions. I have been a loyal BMW customer, owning this as my fourth BMW vehicle and I also own two BMW motorcycles, not to mention recently purchasing a 2015 BMW X3 for my daughter. It is profoundly disappointing to receive my vehicle back in worse condition after entrusting it to BMW for a safety recall. This experience is unacceptable from a brand renowned for its quality and customer care. I urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly and address the issues with my vehicle with the urgency and professionalism expected from BMW. I have also forwarded this concern to my legal representation firm should this matter not be resolved. I am kindly looking forward to your prompt response and resolution.

Last Thursday I went to the branch to try to resolve a speeding fine that was from the previous owner of a car I now own. Despite promises from Priscilla and Desire to call back after repeated follow ups and promises - I still got nowhere

I've serviced my vehicle at BMW East Rand for over years, with an exception of one service that was done at BMW The Glen. I've had a full maintenance plan to 100 000km + an extended maintenance plan with a 3rd party that covered service and full maintenance including parts replacements. After looking at the entire service history of my car, I dont see an indication of a full coolant service that was done on my car. I'm taking checking/replacing the water pump, heat exchanger, line coolant, gaskets etc. After doing my extensive research and discussing with BMW technicians, the entire full coolant system must be done at least every 4 years. This means, by my 97 000 km service, this should have been done and if so, this service/maintenance and pats replacements should come with a warranty. A few weeks ago my car started giving me indications of a coolant shortage so naturally, I kept topping it up. Now my car is overheating and I'm not driving it, leaving me without a vehicle. All I ask is for BMW to do the right thing and fix this coolant issue which has now resulted in an overheating issue and to treat customers fairly. This is such an inconvenience.

I have been a very satisfied client of BMW East Rand for the past 4 years. During this time I bought different size and models from head of the sales team Jacques Swart. This person listens to your needs for a bike and advise accordingly and not once I have been disappointed with my purchase. All my 5 bikes was second hand models with low kilometer readings and in no time at all you got to meat the whole after sales team, all approachable friendly men and women that will go the extra mile to assist a new or excising client. I really feel bad for what I did at the last minute of buying a 2012 R1200R from Jacques in May 2023, he really have been looking after me for the last 4 years and not once disappointed me, I only went for this 2015 R1200R LC at Bike shop Rivonia because of influence of a very close family member and secondly because this bike was a full house model and the color just made the sale. I can with all honesty recommend BMW East Rand to any motorcyclist whom is in the market to buy a new or used bike to visit this dealer before you sign for a deal anywhere else. This team of dedicated professional men and women will get you sorted in no time at all and with the complete backup of the workshops team, should anything go wrong with your new beemer. I could just kick my own ass for not allowing Jacques to source me the same model of bike. I do apologize Jacques. But, they are now my servicing dealer for this 2015 R1200R LC that I bought from Bike shop Rivonia. Your DP can be very proud of his competent team at the motorcycle division. You guys rock.
