I bought a Garmin Fish finder at Boatssa in the Strand Western Cape. After installing the Garmin the transducer did not worked, it was short circuited Have the report for that.
So I phoned Herman at Boatssa that sold the Garmin to me. I took the transducer back to Boatssa that send it away. After a week I ask where are the transducer ! He said that I could come there is a new one for me at Boatssa. The one that they sent was not the right transducer, they sent a 8 pin transducer and the Garmin that I have was a 4 pin. So I took the transducer back.
Boatssa the give me another transducer that was also not the right transducer to go with the Garmin. They give me a GT20 and I need the GT24 transducer. So I phone Herman again and told him that I'm no longer interested in the Garmin, I need my money back ! He told me to bring the unit back.
So I took the Garmin in the box back to Boatssa. They went through the box to see if every thing is there. So I sked them OK were are my money ?
Then suddenly, there is a policy in place with a handle fee !!! What BULL **** They are now going to sent the unit to Garmin to be tested and then they will decided what I could get back. I did not buy the Garmin through the Internet, Nobody explained any policy or handling fee to me when I bought the product in the shop at Boatssa, sale person was Herman.
I will strongly urge you not to deal with Boatssa because they are not dealers for Garmin.
It is now more than 5 days and I still have not got my money back from Boatssa, I have instructed a layer now to take this matter further to get my money back from Boatssa !!!
What about the rights of the consumer ? I will go through that process as well and report them to the Consumers Act
Be very careful to buy anything from this company BOATSSA !!!!!
