Best truck rental company I’ve come across! The staff was incredibly helpful, and their response time was impressively fast. Highly recommend for anyone needing a reliable and efficient rental experience.

****mers. Do not hire them. You will not get that deposit back!! Absolute garbage. They charge based on when the driver leaves and returns to their depot. They don't take into account that their drivers often get lost and drive slow as snails. Also, they give you a lovely surprise of charging VAT twice. Don't trust the agents, they are trained to make a sale, not to be open and honest about how the deposit charge and refund works. Whatever total price you get at the bottom of the quote should be money you're willing to part with.

Unprofessional contact
Completely unprofessional, they approved my details then after paying they said the manager and CEO have rejected. Had to wait for refund and got wasted time dealing with them. Don't waste your time with them.

Misleading quoting policy
I recently used Book-a-bakkie for a move. I got a handful of quotes of which they were the cheapest. Although their service is very quick and friendly, they mislead customers about their pricing. They require a large deposit amount and when the delivery has been completed they only pay back 1/5 of the deposit. Essentially making their services more expensive than any of the other quotes I got. When I enquired about this they pointed out that they sneakily mentioned the extra costs on their quote, but they never added them to the total. So I was under the impression that the quote included all costs. This is a sales gimmick they use to get your business. I spoke to the sales person who helped me. She agreed that this is very misleading but shrugged it off saying she's not the one making these decisions and that management has implemented this policy. Stay away from these guys and rather go with a bit more expensive and honest quotes from other businesses.

Pathetic service
These people offer a pathetic service. Different agent’s giving different quotes. Then when it’s time for them to refund your ginormous deposit, they make no effort at all. You have to constantly hound them for your own money back!

Stole R9000 from me - DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY.
Rented a truck from these guys. They did not receive my first deposit so I paid a second deposit, R8k x 2. 20 minutes after collection of the vehicle, I got stuck alongside the highway in a pretty dangerous area. I then phoned Spartan Truck Book a Bakkie Hire to come fetch the vehicle, all the while driving very slowly, having to stop every few minutes to my destination. Spartan Truck Hire begged me to keep the vehicle, they would send out a technician that evening. The technician came, worked on the vehicle until about 22:00. I then used the vehicle from 06:00 the next morning, 45 minutes into my trip, the vehicle started breaking down again. I phoned Spartan Truck Hire who said its my problem and I should then rent more expensive vehicle. I have now been waiting almost 3 weeks for my deposit back, always an excise, from accounts is on it, sorry we are in meetings, et cetera. Today they tel me that they are taking both my deposits as it is my fault the vehicle broke. I have photos of the door rubbers literally falling off of the door, holes in the door while I am driving. Basically the vehicle is a danger, which is exactly what I said to them on the first complaint to them a few hours into renting the vehicle. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY.

DO NOT BUY- A USELESS PLACE
I am a university student I ordered 4 books about 5 weeks ago I need those books for assignments When we called book a book they gave me different dates the books will be delivered I took pictures of my friends book because this place could not deliver these books They blocked my number, so I cannot call them to hear when my books will be delivered I am cancelling my order and ordering them on takealot which will deliver within 7 days I will not buy from this place ever agian
