The battery icon on the display of my Merc C200 suddenly started appearing. According to the car Service Manual I had to take it into a Mercedes workshop for checking. Due to it being over the weekend, I called the AA who performed some tests and stated that it appeared to be the alternator. As the nearest Merc workshop was some Km away, I was concerned that because the alternator was not charging, the battery would die after a few Km. I decided to search for a RMI approved workshop. Bosch Rivonia was just 3 Km away and I took the car there. Bheki and Khuli were really helpful. No sooner had i left the car there, I got a call to say that it was not the alternator but rather the regulator. Many spares suppliers were closed because the following day was a Public Holiday so Khuli undertook to source a new one on the working day thereafter which she did and she called me immediately thereafter to say that the car would be ready by 16:30 that day. On arrival to collect the car, Bheki showed me the faulty regulator and explained why it was faulty. He definitely knows a lot about car electrics. All in all, a very pleasant experience at Bosch Rivonia, especially because of their very professional employees, Bheki and Khuli. I will definitely use them again.
