Bosch Service
Based on recent customer reviews, Bosch Service faces widespread dissatisfaction across multiple branches nationwide. Customers consistently report poor workmanship, with vehicles returning worse than before servicing. Recurring complaints include misdiagnosis of faults, overcharging for unnecessary or incomplete repairs, and being sold substandard or old parts. Communication failures are prominent, with staff described as rude, unresponsive, and dismissive when accountability is sought. Several reviewers allege deceptive practices and feel pressured into paying for work not performed. The few positive reviews praise specific branches like Menlyn and Paulshof for professionalism and thoroughness.

Based on recent customer reviews, this business delivers a consistently strong customer experience anchored by outstanding agent quality and rapid communication. Customers frequently name individual consultants and praise their friendliness, patience, and professionalism. Recurring praise is given to claims and roadside assistance, though a vocal minority report frustrating delays, rejected claims, and poor transparency around premium increases.

I strongly advise anyone who values their vehicle and their money to avoid using this workshop. What should have been a straightforward thermostat sensor replacement (Sensor price: R800.00) turned into a frustrating and costly experience. I was charged R7,900 for the repair, yet only two days later the water pump failed, raising serious concerns about the quality of the workmanship and the thoroughness of the initial assessment. The Service Advisor, Edwin claimed that for a week, his guys ran stringent testing on the vehicle to ensure that "everything was in order." To make matters worse, the workshop later (a week after)removed my engine cover when they were inspecting the water pump and never refitted it. Despite multiple requests, they have still not returned it. In addition, a refund that was owed to me was not processed when promised. I had to repeatedly call and send messages for over a week before the refund was finally paid, let alone the multiple visits to their offices just to get assistance as they kept making excuses that they didn't have internet. The entire experience reflects poor professionalism, lack of accountability, and unacceptable customer service. I was later assisted by an independent mechanic who charged me R500 for a pressure test that they had claimed to have done, fitted a new water pump and the car is running perfectly fine. This was all done within 3 hours for an overall cost of R3000 including the pump. I expected transparency, competent workmanship, and basic respect as a paying customer. Unfortunately, none of these standards were met. Until the engine cover is returned, this matter remains unresolved. I would strongly caution anyone considering this workshop to think twice.

Very disappointing experience with the Bosch service centre on King Dinuzulu Road. I was told my car would be ready the same day, but no one contacted me with updates. I had to call at 4pm (an hour before closing) to find out the wrong parts had been delivered. The next day I was again told the car would be ready, but later discovered the wrong parts had arrived again, and once again no one informed me. After being inconvenienced for two days, I was told they would request a ride for me since their shuttle couldn’t fetch me. I waited, but later a male employee told me drivers were declining the request. It later became clear that my car was actually still not ready, which should have been communicated honestly from the start. What frustrated me most was the lack of communication and accountability. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience caused, the employee became defensive and tried to shift the blame. I do not recommend this Bosch branch at all. Honestly, they wouldn’t even get one star from me, but unfortunately I can’t submit this review without selecting a rating.

Last year 16 October I took my car to Bosch service in meyerton for service. My car was perfectly fine, had never broken down before. Later that day after fetching the car it broke down. I called them, they said I should bring back the car at my expense. Took it back. They said ke cam belt and it’s not their fault. Fine I gave them details of my mechanical cover. They replaced the cam belt and charged over R38 000. I got my car back on the 3rd of December. Fast forward to 25 February this year, my car broke down again. The cam belt that they put in December broke, R38 000 later, it broke! We called them they said we must bring it back. Took it back same time. Friday my partner went to check what was going they took no accountability. They told him what happened was absolutely normal, even if we fixed the car at VW it was bound to happen. They are not at fault. They told him that paying R38 000 it’s perfectly normal for a cam belt to break not even 3 months later They were even complaining about how even if they claim from insurance, they will lose money for labour, insurance will not cover their labour as it is a return job. No accountability, no remorse. Now I have to spend a month or 2 without a car after paying so much money, Not to mention the money I spent on towing. They even want to claim from my mechanical cover again.

Bosch Car Service Lenasia is ****ming and very unprofessional. I took my car there when it had engen problems. Yes it was towed in and not running but they took out the top and took it to engineering to evaluate it. It came back and they did all the qoutations then the insurance paid. When they called me to fetch the car they then said they poured petrol to test it and I have to pay extra money for that petrol without even telling me before. Again they started saying they then detected that the car was miss firing so there's a coil that they replaced and I have to pay for it, without them letting me know first. So they charged me extra money on the side after the insurance paid all the expenses. This extra money was for things they did without even telling me. They made an extra invoice for these things on the side and informed me about them only when it was time for me to fetch the car and they said I can't take the car without paying that extra money. Wich there's not even proof that they poured petrol in my car and changed the coil. The old coil that they gave me could've been taken from another car that looks like mine, that petrol slip they gave me does not really prove that the petrol was poured in my car. Initially they charged R18359,00 then insurance paid it. When I fetched the car I found them having done that extra invoice then all in all I had to pay R19140, 00 in total. I took the car and they told me that it had a guarantee for 10000km after they fixed it if it had the same problem it had when I took it in. The car still had the smoking problem it had when I initially took it in and when I told them they said it's because it was not moving for 5 months so if I pour enough petrol then drive it around for a bit of a longer distance then it will run the smoke off. I poured petrol and drove it around but it still smoked then I realized it was leaking. I took it back again and now they telling me that they didn't fix under the engine and they still want me to pay for that again. So they took almost R20k and the car still comes back not completely fixed with the problem it had initially when it went there and instead of completing their job, they still want more money from me whereas they are the ones who did an incomplete job. This is totally unacceptable and *******. 🤞🏻 😡

Bosch Pietermaritzburg - incorrectly diagnosed the fault in my car which would have cost me R19 000 had i not got a second opinion. General manage, Junade has not responded to 5 requests to call me over the past 5 days.
