The biggest mistake I have made as a parent, was enrolling my son at Brainline. Since joining in 2023, the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. This school feels purely business-driven, unempathetic, focused on numbers (they have hundreds of children per class) and money, with very little care for the child’s welfare. Miss a payment? Your account and student portal are immediately suspended. Classes and assessments are missed, and even after rectifying the payment, those missed classes are gone forever, although you would have paid the money. Even when you make arrangements and stick to them, you still face issues: reports withheld, payments not reflecting, and endless requests for proof of payment. You constantly have to dig through old emails to prove conversations happened. It’s a hot mess. Other schools won’t even consider your child if they hear he comes from Brainline—this is from personal experience. We are stuck here, with poor progress and no alternative options. This has caused sleepless nights and tears ****erally), all because of the stress and frustration of dealing with this system. If I could go back, I would never click that Google link three years ago. Parents, think twice before choosing Brainline.

Was happy until recently. My daughter grade nine had to write English paper yesterday. Time was open until 20h00 to write the exam. She likes to study on the day and would rather write later. She started the paper on the new invigilator app ( replaced proctorfree) and an hour and 15 minutes into a 2 hour paper the App indicated FAULT. You could not access Brainline online self to get technical support believe me we tried logging in from another PC in the house as well. Made screenshots. However we are now told by the teacher after an email was sent explaining the situation that it will be send to IT otherwise unfortunately my daughter will not be able to write a supplementary this year but only next near. I can understand if the fault was on our side, electricity went down, internet went down, anything else but a fault that we heard other kids also experienced makes no sense. Also it seems as if the school needed you to write earlier... how does that make a difference if you cant get the assistance if you try and log in ... your answers are saved it seems and it is a done deal. I can not SEE HOW THIS MISTAKE is on our side and will appreciate a prompt answer from someone that can actually explain this to me

I have read through the remarks of people giving this school a one star and then writing some absurd comment. Really? Do you even know what you are talking about. Have you seen the textbooks being used by the school, do they look fami**** or was your kids not previously in a model C/government school? Also the classes are really good, the standard is high so I would say if you can't handle the heat stay out of the kitchen. I find it to be a very good school. Spoken to many happy students and parents that enrolled their kids in here.

My child wrote her year end exams through Brainline. (Also note that we have to pay additional for the yearend exam for Grade 2, because its not compulsory.) They are withholding the marked tests from us, unless I pay another R200 PER PAPER to see what they actually marked. So I have to just agree with the marks on the reports without seeing the tests results? As it's homeschool, how should I know what to pay attention to if I cant see the results? I understand if they have to remark, then it will cost an additional fee, but that's not what I'm asking them to do. We also weren't able to access the exams-program on the profile for numerous days at the beginning of the exams due to technical issues from their side. Then it worked for a little while, then we had issues again. The teacher/head of department honestly isn't eager to help at all. What's worse, they want us to go to their office if we are willing to pay and want to view the papers after we've paid. (Not everyone lives in Pretoria by the way). What is also very unsettling, is the fact that the dictation for Grade 2's, were about a drunk guy in a bar? So imagine reading this to a little kid that doesn't know what a bar is? And to explain what a drunk guy looks like, because its not something we allow in our home, and she asks these questions during what's suppose to be an exam? And the reading material are about children walking away from home because they are upset. Why do even make little kids aware of that at such a young age? *Also note that this is their own study material.* For my older son: their reading material was about a ******* committing suicide. How is this just acceptable? I definitely will not recommend Brainline as homeschool/online school option to anyone.

I find it horrific and rude that an educator of kids does not have neither the manners nor courtesy to either acknowledge 4 mails and 3 telephone messages , nor explain as you have Natasha van der Schyff

I have been trying to enroll my ward and have completed the enrolment form. I am now at the part where I need to pay. The problem is that I have not spoken to anyone from Brainline regarding this new enrolment, where I can all my questions regarding the institute addressed. I received 1 call which I could not take at the time, and the person that called (Marika or Marietje) promised to call me at 9am the next day. This was 2 days ago. I have been trying to get someone to assist me since yesterday at ... via mails and phone calls. I have sent a number of mails for someone to call me back urgently. I have called and held on according to the voice prompts, only to have my call cut. Is Customer Service excluded from the list of services provided by Brainline? Is the onboarding process for a student to be done without any consultation?
