My biggest loss I have just lost my dad to Covid on the 04/04/2021. I am still coming to terms to with the biggest loss of my life but I also have a duty to inform and try and save anyone who is considering sending their family members to life brenthurst clinic. I took my dad to brenthurst simply because of the reputation that Dr Moola and his team earned against the COVID -19 fight. The DR was undoubtedly one of the best however the hospital experience was awful. From the very first day of admission my dad Anzar Hoosen Mottiar had suffered. In order to get some attention I have been paying nurses just to request them to take special attention. Things were still a little less difficult in Covid ICU however contrary to ones belief he was treated badly in normal ICU My dad passed on the 04/04/2021 and roughly two days before that his phone was stolen from the ICU. Someone had the audacity to either use his face for opening his phone or use his circumstances and get his passcode to unlock his phone. They then took the passcode and changed his Apple ID password as well as switching off his find my iPhone. This was done around the same time when Sister Sue answered his phone and said we should not disturb him as he needs to rest. From that day on we had been in contact via the ICU contact details to enquire about him. I was the only person who visited my dad. My dads phone contained sensitive information just Like any other persons phone but most importantly it stated what we should do in the case something had to happen to him . This person has also purchased apps using my dads credit card ( I have proof of this as well) To top this on the night of my dads passing -04/04/2021 as I walked into ICU I saw a nurse by the name of Sandile who was looking so intoxicated he could barely understand what is happening. The same nurse saw my sister and addressed her as “HEY WOMAN”. Please note this is all happening in ICU. My last experience was last night when apple sent me a notification that the phone was in the hospital and when I went there and requested help, I was told that the manager Mr Yusuf is at home in a “prayer “ and there was no one who could assist us until Monday. What prayer would that be on a Saturday night at 11 pm as we follow the same faith. I tried my best explaining that by Monday this location and information would mean nothing all I want is to see my dads notes and clear the device for some closure. We leave our loved ones in hospital for better care and we leave it in the hands of people that are drunk and thieves. I am absolutely disgusted and if there’s even one persons life I can save I would never recommend going to brenthurst clinic only because of the staff and bribery that is happening there.
