Bworx: Terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience. Extremely unprofessional conduct from this business.

After paying this company a significant % deposit for “materials” up front, communication quickly went silent. I had one project manager show up to confirm if anything special was needed before they kicked off the project. This person then never came back, and when I managed to get hold of him, he told us that he doesn’t handle scheduling and I should speak to the owner.

So that it is clear: I was not demanding the immediate start of the project; I understand that they need to schedule. I did, however, request a general idea of when the job might start, and when I could expect them, because I needed to manage my own availability. I got 2 separate start dates, both of which never happened (and I had taken half days from work to ensure my availability). They never showed up, with not so much as a phone call or a text message. I still to date have no explanation for the total disappearance, and the owner has never called or messaged me back, despite many promises to do so.

More than a month after the deposit was paid, I have no clarity on the start date, and no means of communication (nobody will take my calls). At some point, I requested a reimbur*****t and their back office asked me for my banking details, but this also never materialised. I have since issued a formal letter of demand, and I am now pursuing legal action.

If you are in the PTA/JHB area, looking for painters/roofers, look elsewhere. I would caution anyone to think carefully before engaging them.
