Beautiful place, great location with the ocean and beach on one side and the wild nature on the other side and a perfect place for fishing. The chalets is not the best place to stay, the couch was dirty (found old food underneath the couch cushion and a lot of coffee stain) and mold in the shower (clearly looked like it was cleaned a year ago). The sink drain was not connected properly, if I washed the dishes the sink cannot be drained otherwise the water will spill the inside the cupboard.

Beautiful place, great location with the ocean and beach on one side and the wild nature on the other side and a perfect place for fishing. Except for the brown water, I would recommend camping at this resort. The stand are quite big and you will definitely see animals passing your campsite every day. There is a lack of maintenance at the resort, and hopefully it will be attend to as soon as possible. There is electrical connections and water available at all the stands. Bring enough cloths, only if you don't want to wash with you hand or dive into town (st lucia is 1hour drive +- 31km), the washing facilities does not work. The shop is very expensive and small, you will have to buy all your groceries in town (st luica) before going to the resort. It take a lot op patients making a reservation and you will have to follow-up a few time after the reservation is finalized. When going for fishing, there is facilities where you can clean your fish, fishing equipment and your boat. Things to remember then camping here, *bring your own braaier, * flashlight and extra lights for around your camp, * fresh drinking water and * enough sunblock. Things to do *Bird watching *Fishing *Game drives *Swimming *snorkeling - diving - spearfishing *Picnic This is just a bold part, there is much more. Do not let the monkeys fool you, they will go the extra mile to steal your food and anything that may look interesting to them.

We were booked in for camping from 7 to 19 Feb 2021. First I really battled to book accommodation with them. The first time I phoned in October 2020 and was told to phone back in December, when I phoned in December they told me to phone back in January as there will be plenty of space in February. In January I tried numerous times to book - by phone and e-mail and nobody ever responded. Then eventually someone answered the phone and I was told to send a mail concerning the booking after a couple of day had passed after sending the mail I phoned again and then I was told they are very busy, they will come back to me. Eventually they phoned me back and said they have camping from 7 to 11 Feb but the 12th they are fully booked and we can come back on the 13th, and they can only help us until the 18th! Eventually after another couples of calls we got confirmation from 7 to 19 Feb. The day we arrived we were told that there is no water, but it will be on the next day by 10H00 - well that did not happen - it took 3 days before we had water!!! The first evening they delivered a 5L drinking water and filled up some dustbins with water at the bathrooms for the toilets. They never filled the dustbins again. The 2nd day they said we can get a key to take a shower at the cabins - well at 9 O'clock at night there was still no water. The 3rd day they gave us a key and at least we could take a shower. Then 2 days later the electricity went off and needless to say after 2 days it was still not on. We packed up and left as the manager of the resort was hiding and left a poor little guy at the reception to receive all the complaints. We used to go there regularly for the past 10 years and needless to say no maintenance has been done since then. The shower that was leaking 3 years ago is still leaking. The washing line has not been replaced in 3 years. The ladies cleaning the bathroom cannot even say good morning and the same for the security guys - 3 of them and I am not sure what they are doing and why they are there. The bathrooms are not very clean actually they feel filthy. When we left we went to Sodwana Bay - what a breeze it was there. The bathrooms were immaculate, the staff was super friendly - everyone just wanted to help and it was cheaper.

We aborted our stay at Cape Vidal a couple of hours after we arrived because of the appalling condition of the cabin we were assigned to. We arrived late afternoon and at first glance the place looked run-down and dirty but we decided to give it a go. It was only once we started cooking food and really looking around us that we realized how filthy the place was. Nothing a good scrub with handy Andy and some sandpaper will not fix (if you cared to keep the place in a reasonable condition), but seriously not a place you want to cook and eat in – you might actually get listeria or something. There is a fine line between rustic and just plain filthy. This cabin unfortunately is the latter. Bad workmanship (just painting over plug fittings, putting things on back to front etc), a build-up of years of dirt (cupboard doors, stove knobs, tables and chairs .. the list goes on), fresh dirt (who wants to eat on a placemat with the previous tenants food on it?) tells me that the people running this place have no problem charging a premium fee but are not willing to do proper upkeep and cleaning. I am sorry, but for a fee of R 2000 per evening we expected better. The price is an indication of the standard you can expect. In this case we got a R 300 per not standard for a 2k fee.
