My husband and I stayed at Zimbali on the 23rd of May 2025. We arrived late, checked in after 8pm, went for dinner and returned to retire for the evening. At 10pm we identified a challenge with the aircon not being operational. I informed reception and the technical team was sent. I detailed on WhatsApp the how the rest of my evening panned and the sheer inconvenience we were exposed to due to this issue. Too date, not even an I'm sorry or anything from Zimbali The Capital to address my write up, 7 days later. What has happened to Customer Service? Why project 5 star and not award it to guests? What criteria symbolize this 5 stars, and what should it take to have those stars reduced? There is a serious need to review the service levels at Zimbali Capital Hotel.

I regularly stay at Capital Zimbali for many years, even before Capital took over the hotel. My last stay this weekend is possibly be my last. I had no water in my garden apartment on Saturday 20 April. I called maintenance at around 15:00 to inform them i have no water, but i did inform them i will be taking my kids (9 year old daughter & 12 year old son) to the pool so they can attend to it and hopefully i get water when i am back. i get back to the room 17:15, the water is back, but only cold water. I wait until 17:45 / 18:00 to check if the hot water comes back before i make the call. They tell me maintenance is attending to it. now my kids are feeling cold and we have a dinner reservation at 20:00. i call the hotel reception at 19:00 to speak to the manager on Duty, got pushed from pillar to post, never spoke to any manager. At 19:15 the reception call me to inform me that maintenance is coming to the room, i did remind him my kids are cold and we need to leave for dinner. No one came to my room. i changed the kids up and left for dinner. When i get back around 22:00 the cold water is not there anymore. So back to square one. No water again. the next morning i do get hot water. When i am checking out on Sunday, i ask to speak to the manager, a white guy from the back office comes out. i explain to him my story. All he says was there was water issues on Saturday, someone is lying (When i called in the many times this was not mentioned to me, only thing mentioned was maintenance is coming to check) The manager also said they left flyers outside the rooms to inform the guests of the issue ( i also did not get the flyer and i asked my kids if they saw a flyer incase i missed it, they did not see anything either). it was just a sad story by the manager who did not seem to care about me and my issue. There was no compensation or anything. Just a half hearted apology from the male manager The Capital Zimbali is not cheap. My room was R3500 a night. So to pay that much, not get hot water for majority of the pool day and no proper communication and no compensation. i definitely wont be going back

I would like to share the most extremely terrible, pathetic, unprofessional, despicable, poor service ever from the capital Zimbali ,i was preparing to propose to my now fiancé at the capital Zimbali ,i called numerous times to seek permission to propose on that day in a private setting which i enquired about weeks before i planned to propose and was told it would be free and no charges would apply from multiple staff at their concierge and reception desk ,i then travelled 2 and half hours days before the engagement to view the place and book to stay as well along with final preps ,on that day i was not told about any extra costs and even confirmed with them about small signage along with a photographer that would be present on that day ,they confirmed it would be ok and all i should do is ensure i book the accommodation so get access codes to the resort which i did on that day .....finally on that day i get a call saying they are not prepared to allow the events planner access along with the photographer to set up as i need to pay an additional R4500 + R2000 this being minutes before i could get there and surprise my fiancé with the engagement ,the staff and management refused to allow this and only allowed this to happen in our room privately ,this was a moment that i could never get back and if i had known i would have made other arrangements ,this resulted in me paying for services i never receive and spoiling one of the most happy moments in my life and my soon to be wife ....all i got was an apology and excuses .....I feel they just wanted to **** money out of me at the last moment ...very poor service from a so called high ranking hotel ....still waiting over a month for management to send my apology letter that was promised but it seems there's no remorse....just want to say thank you for ruining a precious memory that i can never get back

I booked a wedding venue for May I then canceled in end of Jan. The contract says they will charge me a cancellation of 25% if I cancel 28+ prior arrival, even Nosipho confirmed the amount of refund that I will get but they only refunded me 50% instead of 75%. Don’t be scammed by these people. If you have a wedding don’t even consider them. You will need to beg them before they respond. ****** scammers

My family and myself have checked into the Capital Zimbali lodge. The service is pathetic! We have ordered room service and it's been an hour and a half no food has been delivered. House keeping cleaned our room at 5pm after having to phone and ask them to. We ordered food at the pool and we were told that almost everything on the menu was out of stock. The service here is pathetic and for the amount of money we have paid one would expect good service!

I was shocked at the way my booking was handled. I made a booking on the phone with Zama for a family suite which she said was on special for 2300. I made my way to the hotel with my kids and when I got there the hotel refused to honor the booking because they said Zama made a mistake. I was left with no accommodation at night with my kids. People be careful with this hotel they can change your booking upon arrival. Neliswa the manager didn’t even care I had small children. Not right guys
