I saw a Jaguar XKR that was advertised by Chasing Cars in Randburg at the price of R 499.00. I phoned the salesman buy the name James and asked him what the total price will be and if there is any damage on the vehicle or any repairs. I was told that nothing requires any repairs seeing that the vehicle is still very clean and in good condition. I asked the salesman to give me the final pricing and I was told that the vehicles price is R 499 000 but they add a extended warrantee to the value of R 27 000. Now I don't know what extended warrantee costs that price so I said I will rather pass the deal. Today I phoned the salesman again and asked him if I could buy the vehicle without the warrantee. I was told now, I have to buy the vehicle with the warrantee. I later got a wattsapp message sating that I could buy the vehicle without the warrantee for R 495 000 but I have to sign a waver that I don't keep them liable for any damages or repairs. I asked him if they did a full test on the car to make sure all is working. I was told they can do that if I pay for it. Now my question is the following, is the dealership not suppose to do that automatically before selling the vehicle to you. Now they just want to get rid of the vehicle and add a warrantee to it so that they are not liable for any repairs. They now can sell you any junk and you sit with the repair cost and problems. Please be careful if you buy a vehicle from this company, every dealership is suppose to give you a six months warrantee from the dealership and not force you to take a warrantee to cover them from their responsibility. They should make sure that the vehicle that they sell is in good and proper running condition before selling it to you and not force you to take a extended warrantee to get them off the hook of their responsibility as dealership.
