Chronos are absolute perfectionists
I do agree to some reviews; BUT effectively it does come to knowledge and servicing of hardware (high end watches and customers)!!! Lower end customers must not cry...will Ferrari help you sell your Citi Golf?...I don't think so :) And Chronos does a 300% job! I have been with them servicing my Tag Heuers since 20 years - and they do know their work truely!! Susanne and Jochen are not ideal for customer relations - but they are absolutely knowledgeable about what they do and are absolute experts!!! I would never ever entrust my timepieces into South African hands - and I have to agree with Chronos' that South Africans do not have the ability to provide extremely precise, accurate, quality, know-how, educational, talented, in depth, academic, perfectional precision work as the Europeans do!!! Take your car to a mechanic or car dealer in SA and it always results in dissatisfaction and unprofessional disaster! SA is like China in workmanship :(

Appalling service at chronos
I strongly recommend you avoid this company, run by Suzanne and Jochen Dietrich, at all costs. I left with them a pocket watch in 2012 and contacted and visited them repeatedly over the next years, always given an excuse as to why they had not done any repair. Learning that most of their staff had left and that they were about to close, I attempted to retrieve my watch in 2018. After much argument I received a dismantled mess that is probably not repairable. My regret is that I did not read the reviews on this site before entrusting them with my watch. I experienced the same rudeness, insults and poor behaviour as others here have reported. No doubt they will open under a different name somewhere else. They are to be avoided.

Shocking that they actually get customers
<p>What a absolute terrible way of treating a potential customer! Called the shop at 17h10, the owner I presume (didn't identify himself) basically started shouting at me for calling after the shop closed, almost like I should have known. I wanted to enquire about a 1000 day clock repair, where I was rudely corrected that it's called a 500 day clock and he will not help me now. Doesn't even tell me if they fix this type of clock. Afterwards hanging up the phone in my ear. I have never been treated like this as a new potential customer. It is absolutely shocking! How their doors are still open is just a miracle if I read all the previous reviews. I would highly recommend not engaging with this business if you wanted to be treated with any level of respect. </p>

Manager was rude and made shocking racial remarks.
Waited for 20 minutes to be seen. <br> <br> After the manager finally seeing us she proceeded to complain about her existing clients and how terrible they are, then moving on to explain to my German friend how terrible this country is because of the black people that run it. after finally asking me what I was there for, simple enquiry, she proceeded to tell me how black people cannot make decisions, that black people are incapable of doing anything themselves and how only white people can make decisions and the country was better during apartheid. <br> <br> My friend and I then asked her to stop with her awful comments and that we will be leaving and taking our business elsewhere she followed us out the door shouting that we were the ones who misunderstood her. <br> <br> Absolutely shocked! After reading other comments I am for loss to how they are still in business.

Do yourself a favour and DO NOT use this business. We went there today to make an inquiry about having a watch repaired. Without even asking what we wanted, the owner had a 20 minute racist rant, forcing her disgusting opinions onto us. Fantastic work
Their workmanship is very very good. I recommend them to anyone who needs a high end watch serviced or repaired. I live in Pretoria and sent my watch to them, because they were highly recommended. Don't hesitate, you will find their knowledge and skill is second to none.

Tag Heuer service
I took my watch for a service ( minor) but was convinced by the staff there to have a complete service done to it as the price difference was worth it ( 3 years old). After having it serviced a, chronograph watch ( no batt self winding), I was informed it was ready for collection. I wore the watch for 4 days and in that time it lost time continually. I eventually returned to Chronos and I was informed that it was possibly due to my inactiveness that this was the cause. I refused to even entertain this explanation as I am very active and even jog with it on. They agreed to retest it. I was told they had checked it out once more and they found the watch working perfectly and said that maybe a small microscopic dust had somehow entered the mechanism and it would be ok from now on. <br> Anyway, I had to return at least 4 times and told an equally elaborate story every time. Eventually I sought help from Van Dejiel Jewelers in Tygervalley Mall and they agreed to send it to Picot and Moss Jewellers in Johannesburg. The owner heard of this and phoned me on my cell and begged me for one more shot at the watch. I foolishly agreed and it worked for 6 months and then stopped completely.
