In June 2016 Mark Drogan, owner of StepbyStep Flooring (now Classic Flooring) sold me top of the range Traviata laminate flooring. I was told the flooring was easy to clean and to wipe with a damp cloth.

6 months later we moved a carpet and found that the floor around the carpet had darkened. It transpires that the flooring had been accumulating dirt in the grooves.

Mark Drogan and a SA Traviata agency person told me that the floors had to be vacuumed and/or swept and if needed cleaned with a damp cloth. The embossing of this particular flooring would otherwise pack dirt. I was never informed that this flooring could behave like this in order for me to make an informed decision. Mark Drogan has told me that there is nothing more they can do.

I have had 2 different Traviata flooring suppliers look at this, and 2 non-Traviata flooring suppliers look. None of them had ever seen anything like it.

The Traviata website states that the flooring is hygenic, antiallergic and easy to clean.

Their cleaning instructions on their website says "The Traviata Lam Floor Sweepa is ideal for cleaning. Alternatively, sweep with a broom or use a slightly damp cloth."

This clearly is not the case. Mark Drogan offered to come and clean the floors. He cleaned the downstairs area but not upstairs. I emailed him 24 April 2016 asking about the upstairs but to date there has been no response.

What a horrible and disappointing experience this has turned out to be.
