I received and email invitation for and interview at “La Granson International” based in Stanton 43 Wierda Road for a Sales and Marketing position, they made the job position seem very attractive on the first day of interviews.
They said we will have to do direct sales in stores like Pick n Pay provide customers with credit facilities and when then progress to run our own teams to sell in the stores then open our own branch to market with their clients.
I was then invited for training the next day at Classic Innovations, told to dress in black or black & white formal. When I got there I was paired with a “trainer” and 3 other guys and was told I would have an observation day where I’d watch him sell and come back and right a test on what I’ve learnt. He said and I quote “Basically you’ll just stand there like a dummy watching me work taking notes on what you learn”.
He asked to to put on comfortable shoes cause I’d be standing all day at the Norwood Pick n Pay. I asked him how we were getting there and he said we’ll take an Uber. We then walked to Sandton City where he wanted to order the Uber.
He asked me if I had thee Uber app and I said yes, I do. So he used my phone to log into his Uber account to order the Uber using a Facebook account and ebucks to get a free trip. But he had already used his Facebook account and went on to ask other promoters to used there accounts and after almost an hour of trying it was unsuccessful.
While trying to order the Uber I asked him how many sales would you have to make to a day to progress to have your own team, he said 4 but wouldn’t disclose how much commission you make on a sale as they don’t provide a basic when you’re selling directly to clients.
He then asked me if I have Facebook I said no (because I don’t). He asked me if I’ve ever had Facebook and i said yes I have and explained that I closed my FB account years ago, he said okay use those FB account details to log in and place the Uber order through FB and I said no.
The then said this showed him that I have no problem solving s****s and am not a team player. I said okay well let me remind you that you the one depending on me and not the other way round, I’m the one that was supposed to be standing here like a dummy observing and he went on to make it look like a was the one causing a problem. I asked if I was not here how would they have gotten there and no one provide me with an answer. I asked him to display his problem solving s****s, since I didn’t have any, and to order the order from his bank account, but he refused.
He then went on to apologize saying he didn’t mean I had no problem solving s****s and said if I ordered the Uber from my FB he would give me tips to pass the test and make sure I get 100%.
I then decided to leave them there and get on the Gautrain home because I read a review about Eas Direct Marketing where someone had a similar experience and it did not turn out well. I was hoping someone will come across this and hopefully avoid this company
