Most pathetic dealership ever. They fixed my vw touareg at huge cost. And after they fixed it, it was minimum 30% than before. They had millions of excuses. They do software on vehicles without the proper diagnostic tools. Another mechanic fixed our touareg and now it is perfect. They are ****** and will take you for a ride.

If I could give no stars I would because this is not a business it is a bunch of scam artists and thieves. Stay far away unless you wanted to have money stolen and receive nothing in return. I paid R2800 for 2x camshafts on the 21 August, when they arrived they were the wrong camshafts and I was assured they had made a mistake and that a courier would be sent to collect the incorrect ones and that the correct ones would be sent. A whole 2weeks later still no courier had come to collect and I was still sitting without a car and given excuses about their courier company. I then decided I didnt want to be messed around anymore as everytime I called there was a different story and so I said I would send the cams back with a courier myself (a further cost of R450) and that they must just refund me because I had been messed around too much and couldnt wait any longer. They got their cams back on the 14th September and I was promised a refund by Zeenat Khan who I had dealt with. After another 2weeks still no refund and more empty promises and stories about the boss being in hospital etc.etc wouldn't give me the bosses number but promised to refund the next day. After numerous messages and calls and threats to ger laywers involved etc I received R1000 refund on the 8th October. When asked about why I hadn't received the full amount I was given another story and told it would be deposited the next day. To the day I still haven't received the refund and my messages and call are all ignored. So I spent R2250 and have received absolutely nothing in return but trouble and headaches. Then when I looked on Hello Peter and saw the horror stories of a Company that used to be in the same area it made sense. Looks like they've just changed their name from Classic Motors to Classic Engine & Gearbox to carry on their scams and thievery. Do yourself a favour and dont go anywhere near this company unless you want to be robbed.

We took our car to Classic Motors in September (2018), after we explained what the problem was they assured us that they could fix it without any problems. A few days went by and we went back to check on the progress they had made, only to find that the car was stood in exactly the same place as when we had dropped it off. A month passed and still, no progress had been made and the car was still stood on the same spot untouched. We then approached them and asked when they would eventually start working on the car (they had had the car for coming up two months) and the response we got was “tomorrow”. It was now February and we were asked to make a payment before they could get the parts they needed. So a payment of R11,292,95 was paid on the 19th of February. A few days passed and we were told the car still wouldn’t start even though the “faulty” parts had been “replaced”? We then received word that the fault had finally been located but we needed to pay a further payment of R6880. This payment was made on April 15th 2019. The company owner assured us that we would have our car back within two days, two days passed and we called to check when the car would be available for collection only to be told that the problem on the car has still not been found. We were now fed up at this point considering our car (our main mode of transport had been in their possession for nearly 9 months at this point). We then decided that we wanted to remove our car from his property, only to be faced with refusal and to be given further invoice of R10,280. The owners wife was so rude she refused to even make eye contact. After a huge disagreement they lowered the previous invoice to R5180. We paid the invoice and finally got our car removed from the premises, only to find our car now had more faults than when it went in with. We have lived in hartenbos for 17 years and have not once experienced such poor customer service, upon evaluation of other reviews posted regarding this dealership we concluded that we were not the only that had received such horrendous, unprofessional and terrible service, for any future customers, please be very very wary of this company.

My Jeep broke down near Oudsthoorn which seemed to be the Turbo on 6 March 2019. I contacted the insurance which towed the Vehicle for me. I phoned Classic Motors in Hartenbos as they worked on the vehicle before and was told it is fine I can bring the Jeep. When we got the Jeep there I was told it was the Turbo and had to be repaired. I asked them how long and they said if they can get another Turbo I can have the Jeep back the next day. I had to phone around the next day to find a Turbo and got someone to Re-con it for me. The person collected the Turbo and delivered back to Classic Motors the next morning. The Turbo was put back and when they went for a drive the Jeep went into Limb mode. The Jeep was then taken to the person who did the Turbo and found the Turbo to be blown again. The question was did they clean the entire system before they took it for a drive. Then the Jeep was repaired by Classif motors and they took it for a drive while I was waiting for it. The Jeep broke down again and had to be towed in. I was told it was the starter which had no problem before the time. I had to pay for a starter to be repaired. Got the Jeep back and found the starter was slipping. Took the Jeep to the person who repaired the starter and was then told it was the Bendix drive in the starter and I had to pay again. After requesting Classic Motors a few times a detailed invoice on what was done originally on the starter they do not want to give this to me and I have No proof for what is under warrantee. I also noticed when I got the Invoice from Classic motors I was charged for the Tow in when the Jeep broke down while they were taking it for a test drive. I also had to pay for a service which I did not request which they say they had to do because the Turbo blew. Any way we took a drive to fetch something in East Londen and we got stuck next to the road as the Jeep did not want to start. Classic Motors did not answer my phone calls. The person who did the starter said he can not yhelp us it is weekend. We were stuck outside of PE and I had to call break down. The person then told me it is the Ring Gear. When I told the person who repaired the Starter and Classic Motors I was told then there is nothing wrong with the starter I must have the Ring Gear replaced. My question they had the Jeep for 9 days. They diagnosed a starter problem which I had to pay to have repaired which then appeared to be a ring gear problem. I now find oil in the water and Classic Motors wants to replace the oil Cooler pump. This also just started after they had to fix a Turbo. I also had a problem on the driver window that while it was at Classic Motors for a service suddenly stopped working. Classic Motors said it was the meganism inside the door and it cost me R3500 to replace. Then my Central locking stopped working and the alarm system and No window wants to open and close. After asking them to look at it when the Jeep was there for the Turbo they never did and said even thow they had the Jeep for 9 days they did not have time to look at it.

On Monday 4th March 2019 my vehicle a Mercedes Benz was delivered by "Flatbed Truck" to Classic Motors resulting from a problem with the EIS and Electronic key. I was informed that the relevant component/s would be sent to a SERVICE provider (ART) in Pretoria for diagnosis and repair /replacement to get me back on the road Urgently as I require this vehicle (my only vehicle as a business owner) It is alleged by Classic Motors that the "Couriers" only picked up the goods on Wednesday 6th and that it was delivered on Friday 8th to ART in Pretoria. It was also alleged that ART's technician was already busy attending to the problem and that it should be fixed by Monday 11th. After much communication initiated by myself, I only received the vehicle back on Friday 22nd March 2019; this Only after I had impressed on both Classic Motors and ART in Pretoria that I was in desperate need of the vehicle. It was alleged that the necessary diagnostics, testing, programming and re-testing had been conducted and that all was in perfect working order. A mere two (2) days later I was stranded once again with exactly the same problem as what my vehicle had been taken in for. I need to mention that Classic Motors demanded immediate payment of the account before the vehicle would be released into my care. The necessary payment had therefore been done. Quite a large amount might I add. I have now once again been struggling without my only means of transport for business purposes since Monday 25 March 2019. It is alleged by the current service provider that NO other service provider in and around the Mosselbay/ George area can properly fix the problem I am currently still stuck with. I find this hard to believe, since numerous people have apparently experienced similar problems which had completely satisfactorily been resolved by other local service providers. I have still to receive an offer for a "courtesy vehicle" from the relevant service provider, although they are fully aware of my dire situation and the fact that I have to make a very Urgent trip to the Northern Cape which cannot be postponed and / or rescheduled. This is probably one of the worst - if not THE worst - client service experiences I have ever had in my life and anywhere in South Africa.

This is probably the worst classic repair shop in SA. They offer terrible service, slow and are un responsive to any feedbacks required. Plus they stole an item off my vehicle which they are un willing to replace and damaged my chrome work. Here is an account "email i sent them" of what they stuffed up or didnt do on my Jag. I feel this is needed that you be informed of what I found on my 3.8S which I entrusted with Classic Motors to service and fix. I am not happy with the service Classic motors offered me and don’t think I would return my vehicle for any sort of repairs. 1. Firstly there was a lot of the work on the list that was not attended to even though the car was there for more than 2 months. See below. 2. My gear lever badge was missing / stolen on return which still has not been resolved. 3. My front bumper was damaged on return and the chrome sc****d off the one corner which I now have to repair. See pic below for damages. 4. Also with all the items below not fixed I find it very difficult to justify why my car was there for 2 months plus. Item Recon Type Recon Description Comment 1 Mechanical Full Service. 2 Mechanical Tune up set all carbs, distributor points and gaps etc. 3 Mechanical Oil leak from Engine front crank seal area. Not done still leaking plenty. 4 Mechanical Oil leak / sweat from power steering arms to tie rod ends. Not done still leaking plenty. 5 Mechanical Oil leak from Engine to gearbox area. Check engine crank seal rear and gearbox seal. Not done still leaking plenty. 6 Mechanical Oil leak from overdrive unit. Not done still leaking plenty. 16 Mechanical Check diff for leaks. Not done still leaking plenty. 7 Mechanical Gearbox slots into reverse too easily, Advise. Sometimes it stops by the the lever other times it goes straigt into reverse with out latch. 8 Mechanical Break Lights not working. 9 Mechanical Radiator leaking on seams. Repair. 10 Mechanical Overdrive Indicator on steering unit is rattling check on this if its possible to stop rattle 11 Mechanical Overdrive keeps kicking out to 4th very easily even when at higher rpm sometimes. 12 Mechanical Listen for noise from engine, sounds a little rough at higher RPM and full accelleration, could this be Big and small end bearings? Check and advise. 13 Mechanical Fuel starvation at full throttle and higher RPM when left tank selected. Check on this. Not Fixed 14 Mechanical Accelerator system squeaking, lube or replace bushes. 15 Mechanical Check all break pads and disks. 17 Mechanical Air vent metal grid fallen off into air well cavity. Check this if possible 19 Mechanical Interior Fan Vibration resolve. On 30 May 2017, Classic Motors responded to an ad I placed on parts finder. I was looking for a starter for my Fiat Punto 1.3 Diesel as I asked in ad. Classic Motors responded that they have one. When the starter arrived at my premises we found it was a petrol engine starter that was send. They said they would locate the proper starter. I returned their wrong starter on the 17 August 2017 at my own cost. I could no longer wait on them and purchased a new starter from FIAT. Classic Motors have been promising that they would pay the funds to me. I have made numerous calls and sent emails but they have not returned the funds. The total amount I've spend are R1976.50. Starter - R1500.00 Freight - R350.00 Post return - R126.50
