We decided to hire a cleaner for our carpets and couches. As soon as my mother tried to use the machine, it didn’t want to go on. She phoned the lady and told her that the machine is not working, where the lady responded in a defensive manner and asked my mother “what do you want me to do”, which resulted in my mom getting frustrated with the bad customer service and my mom told her that she should offer auto nee service that is her role after all, where the lady responded to my mom and told her to calm down and stop being frustrated with her. To be specific this is Cleaning clinic Queenswood.

Absolutely terrible experience with this company. I just hired a carpet cleaning machine from my local Spar, took it home, followed all the instructions, but the thing didn't work. On the way back to the Spar to go exchange it, I decided to check if I can get someone to come and clean my carpet instead. I found someone that would do it for less than the machine cost me to hire. A supervisor at Spar puts me on the phone with an employee from Cleaning Clinic (I'm very tempted to name her but for now I won't). I ask for a refund and she tells me they have a no refund policy. What needs to happen is someone has to come to me and assess the machine and then who knows what. I don't have time for this as we have furniture arriving tomorrow that has to go in the room where the dirty carpet is. I start getting irritated because she keeps saying there's no refund policy, even though it DOESN'T SAY THAT ON THE FORM I FILLED IN, and then she goes on to tell me she can't help it if I want to have a hissy fit! End of story, I put the phone down and walked out R499 poorer.

I hired a cleaning clinic machine around 11H00 on 21 June 2023, as my place was flooded, and a pipe burst in our bathroom. I couldn't use the machine as the suction section wasn't working. I returned the machine the same day at 14h00 and was told that I "should have brought the machine back the same time" (Showed no empathy to my situation) and that a refund of the R500 I paid to hire the machine is not refundable (returned with a sealed cleaning detergent). Natasha from Cleaning Clinic informed me that I need to take a picture of my house and the carpets I had to take out (I couldn't as the carpet was taken out and is now in the backyard) . The guy came to the shop to test the machine when I dropped it off (which I had left to for my school run) and placed water in a bucket and the machine sucked the water up. I asked if he used a carpet, but they had no response on Whatsapp. Natasha called to let me know the machine is working. It is now a day later (22 June 2023) and I was told that I am still not eligible for my refund but I can hire the machine out one more day. I informed Natasha I will be taking a wet carpet to the store for them to show me how the machine works. I am very disappointed in their dirty, old, broken machines and will not recommend them to anyone. All I want is my R500 back!!! ACCORDING TO TCF (treating customers fairly), I am entitled to receive my money back as the machine IS NOT WORKING!

I am utterly and completely disgusted with a staff member of Cleaning Clinic. The brand we all know, since many years ago, with their professional staff, Directors and business minded approach seems to have changed. I was approached by one of their staff members about 2 weeks ago who introduced himself as Leon. I met the gentleman, gave him, the keys and cashbook as requested. Not sure if he knew at the time, but I have 4 active stores at present, and another one opening mid December 22. I informed him about the spar opening soon and it might be a good idea to go see them. Unknowingly that I am the owner of all the stores, he replies and said " I was there before, but that owner Is full of ****, and money hungry just as my partner. Confused I asked him what does he mean by partner? He said that he has recently bought into the company Cleaning Clinic and now runs 40% of it, and is now also in charge of all day to day activities, expenses, schedules, etc. Nothing goes past him without going through him, as per his words. I was curious about the Directors, as I have met them a couple of times, and never mention anything to me about selling of the company. So when I enquired this, I was told that the Directors son, has moved on to new online ventures, and have lost interested in the old ways of cleaning clinic, and thats why he was appointed the new Director. What tickled my mind with this "weird " and " unprofessional" conversation, is that It seemed that he was trying to sell himself off as untouchable, irreplaceable and a know it all type of character. The way he talked to me, and trying to sell himself was unprofessional, and unethical. I have met The Thorpe family many times, but I doubt that this young man has any idea, of this. I am really, for his sake, ashamed, and disgusted with what I had to hear and witness. At this point im thinking of cancelling my agreement with them at all my stores, because honestly, I do not have time for such unprofessional behaviour and representation. Like I said, I have been with the Cleaning Clinic for many years now, but I think after this "propaganda" that our time to do business has come to an end.
