Clear Guard refusing to assist after referring installer – now asking for more money
I had Clear Guard installed on my vehicle through an installer (Vector Films / Kurt) that was directly recommended to me by Clear Guard. Based on that referral and the understanding of a long-term warranty(10 years), I proceeded and paid over R43,000 for the installation. The Clear Guard has now failed and needs to be replaced. However: The installer (Vector Films) has since closed down Clear Guard is now saying that the 10 year warranty does not cover workmanship They are requesting an additional R12,000 to redo the installation I find this extremely concerning and unfair. I re**** on Clear Guard’s direct referral and acted in good faith. I do not believe it is reasonable for a customer to carry the cost when a service provider recommended by the supplier is no longer available. I have attempted to resolve this directly with Clear Guard and have sent multiple emails, but have received no response. This matter has now been escalated to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. I am still willing to resolve this amicably and would appreciate Clear Guard engaging with me to find a fair solution.
