This Italian business has been working at Sebokeng Water Waste Works since 2011. Aurecon are the Engineers and Quantity Surveyors also since the start of the project. We as Hantle Earthworks and External Works have been appointed as the Road Works Sub-Contractors dince 2 May 2017. In December 2017 Aurecon ofer Authorized the paving done, which wasn’t done at all, for CMC’s over payment benefit. We were not paid for November or December 2017 work, which was Authorized for R2.15Million. We were eventually paid in June 2018, but only R1.8Million. Verbal reasoning being that the 351k was for the paving over Authorised and paid to CMC, was not paid over to us. Fair enough. Once we re-started after funds were made available to complete the project, CMC di Ravenna started recivering again R351 000 from our new work’s payment certificates. This was questioned and 100k was paid early in Oktober. CMC now plays the: “we are waiting for payment from Rand Water, whom is waiting for Government payments. This is exactly a repeat of last year. The issue at hand is the outstanding R251 000 that CMC di Ravenna got paid and is now refusing to pay Hantle Earthworks and External Works.
