From my experience with complete flooring I would give a warning to anyone thinking of employing their services. I contracted complete flooring to lay novilon flooring in 2 of my rooms and it was a nightmare from the second I accepted the quote. Firstly, they cancelled several times on the date for the installation and when they did eventually arrive, their installers were extremely rude and seemed to have a very poor idea of what they were actually doing. their level of competence was highly debatable and then after they had finished the installation they left my underfloor heating on the entire weekend without telling me, causing my electrical bill to sky rocket.
After the floor was laid, it seemed to be fine but then after about a month, we noticed that the initial smell of adhesive you expect when a floor is laid was just not going away. It was getting so bad that if you kept the doors and windows in the room closed our eyes were beginning to water and we were experiencing sever headaches as well as dizziness. I quickly contacted complete flooring via email and telephone and was met with a dismissive response. out of desperation I contacted Belogotex (the manufactures of the novilon) and they proceeded to send someone out (by this time I had requested complete flooring do the same several times but with no reply) the regional manager of Belgotex came out several times, he checked the flooring itself as well as if there was any damp or anything that could be causing the problem. He confirmed there was nothing wrong with the product and said on several occasions that he too could smell what we were referring to. He even sent out the head of Belgotex South Africa who also agreed that the smell was unacceptable. After numerous attempts to get some resolution or plan going forward with Complete flooring we were just ignored and brushed off with emails saying "we will get back to you". Eventually I started communicating with the owner and what a fruitless effort that turned out to be. He made no attempt to come up with a plan going forward and was not even prepared to come out and see what we were talking about. His emails were downright rude and when I spoke to him on the phone he was abusive and vulgar. After his behavior I left the matter for a while as I was so shocked that a company could take a great deal of money and leave us with two rooms we could not even enter and we could not have the floor replaced as we had just paid for this original floor and obviously could not pay twice. The owner stated that he thinks we had spilt something on the floor and we are trying to blame them. i replied by saying that if we had spilt something, the smell would be isolated to 1 room and not both and there would be a mark on the floor. The one room we were preparing to be my daughters room and because of complete flooring she still does not have her own bedroom, I cannot possibly put my child in a room that smells like this. In an effort to give my child a bedroom we have since been chipping up the flooring each night and getting no where slowly. The emotional stress this situation has caused is beyond measure and I do not feel that this situation should go un-noticed.
