This place is a money making scheme. My dog have some bad arthritis in winter. When i took him there they told me , he needs a ct scan and might be a neurological problem. So we got some anti inflammatory medicine and it worked (they said it wouldn't and wanted to put him down) Now that we are in winter they absolutely refused to give my poor dog any meds without a appointment ( making money again just to see a dog. We know what is wrong they know it aswell , but they want to squeeze every penny out of me by making a appointment. ) Shame on you !! I will be going to another vet that actually cares about my doggy

I had a deeply troubling experience at Craig View Veterinary with my chinchilla, Pixel. We brought Pixel in because she was not eating and suspected it might be her teeth. Unfortunately, our concerns were dismissed by Dr. Ross Schwartz, who misdiagnosed Pixel with pyometra. To make matters worse, the prescribed medication was not appropriate for her actual condition. The misdiagnosis and incorrect medication not only caused unnecessary stress but also led to a significant delay in getting Pixel the proper treatment she needed for her dental issues. Tragically, this resulted in Pixel's condition deteriorating to the point where she had to be euthanized. Dr. Ross Schwartz's lack of compassion and professional oversight in this case should not be overlooked. His actions directly contributed to the suffering and ultimate loss of Pixel. I strongly believe that such malpractice should result in serious consequences, including the revocation of his veterinary license. Whilst I believe in the clinic's commitment to providing quality veterinary care, this experience has left us extremely disappointed and heartbroken. I hope the clinic can address this issue directly with Dr. Ross Schwartz and improve their diagnostic practices to prevent such tragedies in the future.

I recently had a deeply troubling experience at Craig View Veterinary with my beloved chinchilla, Pixel. In the month of December 2024, I brought Pixel in because she was not eating, and I suspected it might be her teeth. Unfortunately, my concerns were dismissed by Dr. Ross Schwartz, who misdiagnosed Pixel with Pyometra (a bacterial infection of the uterus that can be life-threatening). To make matters worse, the prescribed medication was not appropriate for her actual condition. This misdiagnosis and incorrect medication not only caused unnecessary stress but also led to a significant delay in getting Pixel the proper treatment she needed. Tragically, this resulted in Pixel's condition deteriorating to the point where I had no other option and nearly had her euthanized. Just when I thought all hope was gone, I decided to Google for another vet somewhat nearby that also caters to exotic pets, such as my chinchilla. I was lucky to find Bryanston Avian, Exotic & Small Animal Clinic, where Dr. Perushan Yenketsamy immediately did a full assessment, including a scan and a dental check-up on Pixel. With great relief, Dr. Yenketsamy confirmed that Pixel was completely misdiagnosed by Dr. Schwartz and that she had a severely blocked stomach and also a dental issue with one of her teeth growing skew, as I had initially mentioned to Dr. Ross Schwartz was one of my main concerns and that this was not a death sentence. He immediately attended to Pixel and I had to leave Pixel there for two nights, as she was placed on a drip given the correct treatment where there is 24hr. Care by Veterinarians. May I also mention that Dr. Yenketsamy phoned and messaged constantly with updates on her progress and after only two days I went to go fetch her. He gave me correct medication and showed me exactly how and when to administrate it. Dr. Ross Schwartz's lack of compassion and professional oversight in this case should not be overlooked. His actions directly contributed to the suffering of Pixel and nearly caused her death. I strongly believe that such malpractice should result in serious consequences, including the revocation of his veterinary license. Whilst I would like to believe in the clinic's commitment to providing quality veterinary care, this experience has left us extremely disappointed. I hope Craig View Veterinary can address this issue directly with Dr. Ross Schwartz and improve their diagnostic practices to prevent such tragedies in the future.

It's been 5 months and until now, I could neither talk nor post about this, so this will be short, but it's really important. 19 February 2024 I stormed in with my Mitzi in my arms. Dr. Christian was at the reception desk, took 1 look at my face, grabbed her and said, whilst we were running, what happened? The outcome is unbearable, but I've always trusted Craig View with my animals and I spent enough time there and interacted with other clients to observe their operations and demeanor. On that fateful day, my dog was stabilized in Hennops River and I drove all the way to Atlasville. I drive past 17 other facilities to take my pets there in general. Think about yourself, do you want a GP to take care of your specialist condition because of cost concerns or are you willing to pay someone who specilises in your condition? 'Nuff said

I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care my dog received at Graig view veterinary Clinic. From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us with kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion. My dog was in distress, and Doctor Ross Schwartz and team acted swiftly and efficiently to diagnose and treat him. The veterinarians and technicians were incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain every step of the process, ensuring I was fully informed and comfortable with the treatment plan. Their state-of-the-art facilities and advanced medical equipment made me confident that my dog was in the best possible hands. But more importantly, it was their warmth and dedication that truly set them apart. They treated my dog as if he were their own, providing not just medical care but also love and comfort during a stressful time. Thanks to their expert care, my dog is now healthy and happy. I am forever grateful to Graig view Veterinary and highly recommend them to anyone seeking the best veterinary care for their beloved pets.

My moms doggy is in hospital because he was sick. Had to make payment upfront which me did but doggy was admitted. Nowhere did any of the staff inform us that there are no payment arrangements facility available if we are not able to pay the bill. Only a tablet was pushed infront of us and dr said sign here and there. Which we did. Still no explanation with regards to money. Now the owner very rude person recons that the day the doggy needs to be discharged my mom who earns only a pension will put down R10 000 before she can have her doggy back. Basically no money no dog. I am gone contact the SAVC to find out if this is even allowed. Now the doggy must think my mom deserted him but she didn't. I do understand that caring for the doggy in the vet cost money to get him well again but just talking to your customer and explaining how things work would have made the situation different

I just want to extend a HUGE thank you to Craig View Vet in Boksburg - Dr. Kelly and her amazing Reception Team (Monique Brummelkamp, Luke Erasmus, Liam Dudgeon and Mariska Pretorious.) - For there outstanding customer service!, extreme kindness!, amazing attitude! and for making us feel so at home and supported when our pet rat got injured and needed help. Dr. Kelly was so patient and kind with our boy, and the whole reception team, so caring, helpful, polite and supportive! Their offices are so clean and tidy - they also have the most amazing toys for all pets. I would HIGHLY recommend Craig View Vet to every single pet owner across SA! There is definitely no one better! We will now also be moving our little dog over to them, as you simply just do not get the same treatment any where else. Thank you Dr. Kelly and Team for your amazing health care services and excellent people skills!! P.S. - Milo also extends a massive thank you for taking such great care of him. Kind regards Tayla Fitzgerald - (Milo's Mom)
