Very bad experience. I went with my family to the town and I parked in the parking area. The manager came out and asked me if we are going to the restautant. I politely rep**** No we are going to the beach now. He then said they are busy and that I need to move my car out of their parking area. Who was to say that I would not have gone to the restaurant after the beach. But after that rude gesture from the manager I decided not to spend my money at the restaurant. Would not go back to them ever again.

The last three times I went there, my experiences were appalling. I ordered breakfast and the poached egg was stil raw, the bread was stale and the waitress did not follow my request to bring butter, and the avo on the side, so I could put butter on the bread. The next time I ordered hake and rice, of which the price increased with 38% in twelve months, and the fish portion were significantly smaller than before. Lastly, I had their signature snack, the potato skins, which were legendary before, is now cold and limp discarded potato peels, not even cooked properly. This is very sad, and I have to wonder what changed this lovely place so drastically? Do they have a new chef? I also see that they have new waiters and waitresses, all of color, which were not like that before. I hope the owner takes this seriously...

As locals, My husband and I go to Daai Plekkie in die Weskus quite regularly and it truly is enjoyable. We however went there for the Longtable with Lekker Weskus and it was not the best experience. To my knowledge, a long table is an intimate event, however, this was a 90person event with people trying to enjoy a 6 course meal while squished into the restaurant. a small group, who were under the influence, shouted and talked so loud that it overpowered our own conversations and we sat at the other side of the restaurant. The table close to us complained and asked that someone just kindly ask them to speak softer and not yell seeing that it is a special occasion for many people, yet nothing was done whatsoever by management. We understand and are mindful and want people to enjoy themselves but for a special event like a longtable and a chef coming in, I feel that it was not the time or place to do so. 4 hours later, and we were on our 5th course- we waited +- 45 minutes for each course to arrive and once it did it was freezing cold. The course before the dessert was snoek and the potato side dish was served 5 minutes before the snoek, and as the snoek came, we were told we had to share it with complete strangers, with no way of serving it, and later on found out that the other side of our long table never even received any snoek. So they were given a half of a snoek cut up and eaten by 8 other people. We swallowed our pride, and the R850 (excluding drinks) we spent per person for this special occasion and went home with Magnum ice cream. The service was truly amazing and the waitress that served us was such a positive person and was there to serve us with an amazing personality. Unwilling to listen to the other group, whom were under the influence, shouting for the waiter to serve them shots continually while he was literally on the other side of the restaurant, shouting out loud whenever they order shots, making us uncomfortable with the way they were shouting and talking, overpowering our conversations, and wait 45 minutes for dessert. We walked out disappointed and having spoken to many people around us we weren’t the only ones. I’m generally really patient and understanding coming from a place where I have worked as a chef in restaurants. However, I do feel that the chef underestimated the intensity of cooking for 90 people, and I do feel that there were so many people cramped up in the restaurant unnecessarily, and therefore the experience was definitely not what it should it have been and what I would have wanted it to be, especially for the price we paid.

Came to watch a show. Way overbooked. No room to move. Tables and chairs moved so close together, every third patron has to sit with wide open legs to compensate for two table legs. Wait staff inexperienced, confusion if kitchen is open or closed. 45 min wait to see a waiter, but still very little service. In their choice to make extra money guest safety, guest comfort and servive is severely compromised. Daai Plekkie should be ashamed.

Wow wow wow - we don't have words. Went their for supper Friday night 16 Aug and man were we surprised. The quality of their food and the hospitality of their staff is just beyond amazing. We had an amazing evening with awesome food and throughly enjoyed ourselves. We will most definitely be back again. Keep up the good work people - you busy building something that will become a legendary place in the West Coast. See you soon again.
