Struggling to get support. Brand new XVR not working as it should. Keep on saying it need firmware upgrade, but none of the firmware received from Dahua work. It keep on saying update failed. Very sluggish on network. Tried different networks, none working. Brand new machine keep giving system busy or low on resources message. Problem is you cannot actually speak to anyone at Dahua, technicians forever busy, you have to do via whatsapp. I spend four hours now on whatsapp with them as response is sporadic and slow with no success whatsoever. I thought they would have better support and infra structure, but they are basically the same as cheaper chinese brands like Andowl or Xiaomi

Not happy with 16 Channel Dahua NVR DH-XVR1B16-I 1080P Support. I purchased as Dahua DVR from Takealot which was delivered to me on 28 Oct 2023. A month later, I managed to set up the DVR and was happy with the workings from December 2023. On the 29 October 2024, the system automatically updated the software and the night recording suddenly went fuzzy and the audio became very distorted. I tried to log in to check any faults or errors but could not find anything. I checked everything and all connections but nothing has been tampered with. I tried to log a return with TakeaLot only to find that the DVR was only having a 12-month warranty and the fault started a day after. Comment on take a lot shows, “This item is not eligible for return as it is outside of the warranty period. Warranty expired 28 Oct 2024” hence a day too late to log return... I mean a day out of warranty and so suddenly stop working as intended seems very much as staged or programmed failure that is time based. I await Dahua urgent response as the DVR is to be used in a court case of a pending trial. I am very unhappy as I don’t know what to do and want this item to be either repaired or replaced by Dahua.

He took his time to help troubleshoot a fault, send technical information and go way outside his comfort zone to support me on my Mac. Thanks Rudy, it's because of my interaction with you that I have faith in Dahua again. I look forward to many years of service from them and your product.

Dahua offers a 'Partner app' in which you can collect points when using their products. This was marketed to us as installers. Exchanged my points for Checkers E-Card vouchers, only to discover they did not work at Checkers. Contacted Dahau 'representatives' at distributor branches, only to realize they know even less than we do. They keep on revering us to sending emails to marketingsa@dahuatech.com - to which you never receive an reply. Trying to phone Dahua SA on 010 593 3242 does not help as they never answer their phones. NO SERVICE, NO SUPPORT, FALSE ADVERTISING

After having problems with my Dahua IP camera, uninstalling and reinstalling, setting up, etc, I got hold of Bruce (Technical Engineer, Dahua Technology South Africa) who assisted me in getting the latest versions to use with the camera. He also connected with Teamviewer and checked that all my settings were correct and explained to me where everything is recorded and how to view it. Thank you for exceptional service Bruce.
