Let us address your points individually;
When the console is booked in, you were informed up front that the R450 fee was non-refundable. This is due to the time it takes to strip and service the console, the sundries and equipment used to assess the console, and the salary of the technician to do the work.
In order to accurately quote on a repair we must fully repair the unit, this is to ensure that the price we supply you with is the final total and that the machine is working to our satisfaction. If you reject the repair, we do indeed reverse it. We remove the parts we installed and return the machine to the condition it was provided. Albeit much cleaner as we had to remove the hair, sweat, and dust that had accumulated in the console. In short, R450 for labor, R649 for a new replacement original fan. Which we then reduced to R1000 total when you complained about the price.
As to the emotional state of your child I cannot speak for that.
After you declined the repair, the owner followed up to let you know that if you decided to do the repair at a later date we would not charge for labor again, and only for the part we would install. Your reply to this was to shout over the phone and hang up without listening to anything she had to say, as well as write our staff an email calling us liars and using profanity. You also then threatened us with negative reviews which you would remove if we refunded you your money. (This is actual blackmail by the way)
We take all complaints seriously when they are valid, this time that is not the case.
Accusing us of having a monopoly on repairs is untrue. There is nothing preventing others from doing the same repairs as us besides their own technical skills and whether they would like to order parts or not.
According to you the money was never the issue, and that you wanted a quote before we repaired. Which did exactly as we asked, and at the end of the day you received the console back in a better condition that it was brought in, as it is now cleaned as well.
We have also warned you that operating the console in its current state will definitely lead to permanent damage. Our offer still stands, you can bring the console back any time to have the fan fitted, however sooner is better, as it may become irreparable at a point.
