Bought a new Deltec 616 on the 3rd August 2023 (Have the invoice) Went to "Best Drive" - 341 Cape Road PE and requested a Willard, they enthusiastically recommended the Deltec instead... Last week, just over 18 months later the battery died.... doesn't accept a charge.... just dead... Stuck in my Suzuki Supper Carry (Same size 616) battery and all is A-OK.... Put the deltec 616 on a smart trickle charger (That i used for YEARS on my Willard on my Isuzu just fine).... Deltec battery doesnt go past halfway.... The Willard, I bought in 2017 and SOLD the Isuzu in Jan 2025 with the same 7 year old battery..... Paid R1 050.00 for this..... tomorrow I'm going back there for a Willard.... and show them the piece of SH#T they sold me 18 months ago.... Deltecs webpage states "12 to 24 month warrantee" so lets see what they have to say..... If they do make some accommodation or

I bought Solar panel via Leroy Marline, different product, But they deliver Deltec solar panel. Problem with this panel rated 410watts, it produce 230watts on peak. I paid R2900 to get out put of 230 watts which is unacceptable for huge amount. Deltec products is not a real products, its taking advantage of load shedding.

DO NOT!!!! EVER IN YOUR LIFE BUY A DELTEC BATTERY .I regret the day i bought a Deltec battery really... I bought a Deltec 628 battery on the 18 May 2023 in Mafikeng and i was told it will last for atleast two years, to my surprise the battery has been giving me problems since March 2024 not even a year. It seems the shop in Mafikeng is closed down and i tracked head office number in Alberton, spoke to a lady called Debreitte who was really not sympathetic and just not willing to go an extra mile. I explained my story that i am have a battery problem but it seems the shop is closed so how can they assist since its under warranty. She told me the closest shop is in Rustenburg otherwise there is no way they can assist i must just take the battery to Rustenburg for testing. I mean really!!! I am +- 200km away from Rustenburg my car does not start every morning when i am supposed to go to work and even during the day if i park it for more than 2hours. Tell me how on earth will i get there, i was given no alternative whatsoever but just told i must take the battery to rustenburg. My R1530 went down the drain its not even a year and quiet frankly they do not care at Deltec... I really am ****ed and regret the day i bought this battery.

My Brother kindly gifted us a 24v inverter with 2x 12v 105ah deep cycle batteries for Christmas to power the TV and computer during loadshedding. When I was at the shop, I was taken through everything with the shop consultant. They also set it all up for me. I was told the average lifespan of the batteries was 2-3 years at 300 cycles. I was completely shocked to see that my batteries lasted a year. I was told by other people that are in the business of solar energy etc that these batteries should have lasted longer. So I approached deltec with my batteries and initially they kept repeating over and over again about the 300 cycles and because there has been stage 6 loadshedding a few times this has had an affect on the battery life. Now remember, we are under the City of Cape Town with loadshedding. The majority of loadshedding in the past year has been only stage 2. Yet again, like a broken record they kept repeating the mantra of 300 cycles etc etc. They then sent the batteries back to deltec for them to be inspected. Now, I knew this would be a futile exercise as they are not going to take responsibility... A trait that has become quite relevant in South Africa. Pass the buck and deny any responsibility. Although I was advised this would take 2 days, they took a week. Nonetheless, Deltec did give me a couple of batteries which were no good for holding a charge but at least I wouldn't have to worry about power surges damaging my equipment. They came back and once again had to listen to the same broken record. The branch manager popped in this morning to check my system at home to see if it was set up properly. Again, same story. I have since investigated further online. I'm pretty shocked for what I have found. Companies selling the same Deltec batteries as mine, are saying they are only good for 200-250 cycles with a 1 year warranty. This is not what I was advised when the system was purchased. I was advised that 300 cycles and no mention of a warranty directly from Deltec on the batteries. It has come to light, that it was all a sales pitch to try and sell their product to me. Also the rating that these deltec batteries have received by consumers have been poor on some sites. My part in all this, is I should have done more research before I allowed my brother to purchase this product. Take it or leave it, but I advise doing your homework 1st. Very sad but expected, that deltec take no responsibility.

I purchased batteries from Deltec in December 2023. I changed my order and was told that the refund for the amount will be made via eft to my bank account. So at the beginning of January 2024 I followed up on the refund and was told only then I needed to complete forms for the refund. This has now been a month and no refund has been made and numerous emails and saying the payment will be made. I tried to be considering but this is now getting suspicious.

Not a review on the company, but the products they supply. A good friend, who is an electrician, recommended the Deltec inverter and battery to me. The issue is that it is a really cripple inverter, white labeled with a good name but underneath all the pretty packaging and great marketing is an cheaply made, inferior quality Chinese product. It worked for 2 months before completely dying, and had to be returned to Deltec for repairs. It loudly beeps frequently with either no reason (nothing on the display giving any clue what it is unhappy about), or the error code 80 given isn't in the user manual, nor does a Google search help to resolve. The app is the worst on the market. It cannot show when the solar panels are charging the battery or even how much battery is left. Representatives from Deltec (Pieter and Neil) has been to my house three times to attempt to resolve this, and even their most technical people have not been able to figure it out. Don't make the mistake I made and buy a cheap Deltec inverter: rather spend the money on a proper system from Europe.

Purchased Deltec Inverter and two x200 ah batteries in December 2022 from MAL Batteries, P.E. We never exceeded 20 % load. After 10 months the batteries started cutting out after 30 minutes. This supposed solution to keep a few basic appliances on during load shedding came at a cost of approximately R 18,000. When we took the system in to MAL batteries to be checked after ten months, they advised that there was no guarantee after 6 months -as per Deltec. So we now are back to square one, after 10 months, and being R 18,000 out of pocket. I cannot recommend Deltec products as a solution to load shedding. Email neilmattheus@gmail.com.
