Waiting over 20 years for a land claim with little or no feedback is extremely frustrating and emotionally draining. You absolutely have the right to transparent communication and respectful treatment. Here’s what you can do in a structured way: 1️⃣ Escalate the Matter Formally (In Writing) Instead of relying only on WhatsApp, submit a formal written complaint to the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD). Include: Your land claim reference number (if you have it) The name of the project (Zwelpoort land claim) Timeline (20+ years) Copies/screenshots of communication Description of lack of feedback and unprofessional conduct Request for official written update Send it to: The Chief Land Claims Commissioner The Provincial Land Claims Office (Gauteng) The Director-General of DALRRD You can also hand-deliver it and request a stamped copy for proof. 2️⃣ Contact the Commission on Restitution of Land Rights Directly Ask: Who is the current case officer for Zwelpoort? What is the current status of the claim? Is funding allocated? What You said: Polish above ChatGPT said: Here is a more formal and polished version of your message: We have been pursuing our land claim in Zwelpoort for over 20 years without resolution. Our appointed representative, Ms. Kate Kwalane, has not been providing us with adequate feedback regarding the progress of the claim. She has informed us that she is not allowed to connect us directly with the finance department, and she remains our only point of contact at the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform. Unfortunately, when we seek clarification or updates, her responses are often dismissive and at times threatening, including stating that she will leave the WhatsApp group created specifically for communication purposes. As a community, we are deeply concerned about the prolonged delay and lack of transparent communication. We have documented proof of our correspondence and interactions and respectfully request a formal response and clear update regarding the status of our land claim. This was confirmed in a meeting by the beneficiaries in front of Mrs Queen Nkadimeng from the Department and Her Junior Mathibela Aphane. Confirmation letter of verification and acceptance is available Compiled by Mrs Queen Nkadimeng as she was also there to resolve the dispute. Later when claims were paid ,i was told that My claim was removed from the list. The dispute arose as a result of Mathibela Aphane was insisting to add wrong claimanants of Kabete under Mmamathethe Land Claim. Also at Mmapitle Land Claim he added wrong claimanants and i pointed them out in front of ger supervisor Mrs Queen Nkadimeng. The removal if My claim was on personal grounds and the few that stayed with My father at Mmapitle are passing on. All the Mmapitle Land Claim Committee members were very young to My father. I request HelloPeter to investigate the complain and My Claim be paid by the Department. Wutnesses are still available

Good day I wish to lodge a complaint against the department of Land Affairs based in Mafikeng, North West. It is unfortunate that one had to reach out to this platform to seek assistance or to get any information regarding a claim that has not been paid out relating to inherited land by our grand parents that happen to be late, hence the claim needs to be paid unto our parents whom are the rightful beneficiaries. In May 2023 the department of Land Affairs, allocated 11 million which needed to be split amongst 7 family clans. Indeed 5 family clans have been paid out, and only 2 are unable to access the funds. We were informed that the file was sent to the National Treasury office on:18/12/2023 and that the hold up was at the treasury office. I have contacted the finance department in Mafikeng on numerous occasions but have been promised lies and have been sent from pillar to post . The file number in question is: V0027/35. we went as far as to send a family member on: 12/02/2024 to their offices to enquire and, he was told that the file had left the treasury office and was sent to Absa bank for payment on the very same day. I received a call on:13/02/2024 from A gentleman known as Temogo whom works at the Mafikeng finance department, informing me that the claim was paid and that the funds can be expected in the beneficiaries bank accounts as of last week. To date no payment has been received. Our family rep want back to the finance department on:16/02/2024 and he was informed that there was a backlog with Absa bank. How possible is that? My cousin then called Temogo on Monday to ff up, and he informed her that he was going to enquire with Absa, to date he has not called her back. I tried calling this morning and that are not answering my calls. My cousin then called this morning, she spoke to a lady known as Anna Maphoso whom advised that she was Temogo's supervisor, but had no clue about what the claim related to, and failed to be of any assistance. What is happening s not on and their service is pathetic. They just gamble with peoples feelings and do not do their jobs. If the government fails us, then where must we reach out to? This is a very sensitive matter, to an extent where we suspect that the funds do not exist, or people are being paid to delay the payment process or some sort of other influences. As we speak some elderly beneficiaries health are compromised due to false hope and lies based on the feedback provided. Why were the other 5 clans paid out successfully without any delays or issues. If The finance department holds Absa bank accountable, then can the seniors within he finance department resolve this. The story is also that its been paid as its their financial year end. I would appreciate it if this matter can be attended to a.s.a.p and that the beneficiaries in question be paid out as a matter of urgency. Having to wait for 9 months for payment is not on, whereas other parties were paid promptly. Can the same treatment be granted to the current beneficiaries awaiting payment. Awaiting your prompt response.

In 2017 I was notified by late mom's family to submit documents for a land claim because my mom has passed away I would have to submit her death certificate and other supporting documents so I could receive the funds as her only child, I have been submitting these documents from 2017 till to date without any response or whatsoever my aunts and uncles have been paid 3 times already wherelese I'm sitting here with not even an explanation, I'm unemployed and it hurts me so much that I have to go through so much hassle for almost 5years I have been calling Sakhumzi Sigaji's office and the receptionist is rude and does not even try to provide any explanation or information I don't know why in a democratic country we have public servants who dont respect civilians or their job for that matter, December is around the corner and will soon be starting a new year with the same dilemma I am truly not satisfied and livid for that matter a department as big as that failing to respond my cousin whose mother just passed away got paid and here I am in the same position I was in 4 years back.

Since we submitted our family land claim in 2016 we have been sent from piller to post with proper assistance. I have been communicating with Nomgqibelo till last year September, also Sakhi Gaje who always refer me back to Nomgqibelo. I went to the offices early this year and didn't get assistance and I was there again in August and was given Mandisi Jekwa's email address and I have sent him an email but he never replied.

There is a scam for a Tender/RFQ for the National Department of Rural Development for a QPXWVG6U Solar tank. THIS IS A SCAM!!, even though it is on a formal letterhead. I contacted the department directly and they are aware of this scam! However a case must be laid with the Police. I dealt with a lady named Portia. The company DAROS ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS is also a SCAM, who is the only company supplying this QPXWVG6U Solar tank. DO NOT deal with them!!!!!!
