Des Plumbers were contacted to replace my parents' (pensioners) thermostat on their geyser. They demanded payment either upfront of when they arrive at the premises. An upfront payment was made. When arriving at my parents' house they could not assist. They promised to refund the balance (after deducting their call out fee). Despite numerous requests and demands we have not yet been paid back and doubt we ever will. It is shocking that they will rather keep the money for themselves than refund pensioners. Please do not make use of their services.....

Des Plumbers were contacted to replace my parents' (pensioners) thermostat on their geyser. They demanded payment either upfront of when they arrive at the premises. An upfront payment was made. Despite arranging an installation date with Des Plumbers, they did not pitch for the job. After six months, the company wants to charge me for a call-out fee because they claim that I canceled the installation after they failed to show. Doing business with them is not recommended since they are unprofessional when it comes to arrangements.

Do not use Des Plumbers when you have a blocked drain! Their equipment is old and not sufficient. We called them out to open a partially blocked drain. The equipment was too short to reach the end of the drain so not all roots were removed from the pipe. Three weeks later the drain blocked up again. We called them out again. Again the rod could not reach the end of the drain pipe. This time they wanted to start digging holes in our lawn to find the drain pipe and the blockage!!! I called RotoRooter which I have been using for the past couple of years. They arrived within two hours, unblocked the drain by removing ALL the roots up to the end of the pipe and were done in 45 minutes. They are more expensive than Des Plumbers but its worth the money. Des Plumbers sent me an invoice for a call out fee which I queried. Letitia was going to discuss it with the owner and give me feedback. No reply - next thing I receive the invoice again, with a threat that I will be handed over to debt collectors. Obviously this leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. If possible, don't use Des Plumbers! Rather pay more and get excellent service.

<p>Des plumbers came to my house to replace an element on my geyser. They sent an invoice with no breakdown whatsoever, just a bill which was paid. When I asked for a breakdown, they had charged for 2.5 hours of work. I confirmed with 2 separate individuals that they were only at the house for LESS than 1 hour. I queried this and spoke to Margaret and Des from Des Plumbers - they agreed to pay me back the money. After phoning and emailing daily, they still (after a month) haven't paid back the money.</p> <p> </p> <p>If you HAVE to deal with this group: check your invoices; ask for a breakdown & whatever you do, don't pay them unless you're sure.</p>

After my tenant informed me that they only fixed it with silicon, I queried the amount I was charged at R1350 and the plumber who worked on the toilet who explained to me that he has to change various parts and that its a big mess, etc. No parts were changed. Only silicon were used. My tenant was watching the fix. <br> <br> I queried with Margaret from Des Plumbers who then got back to me confirming I was overcharged by R500 and asked if I would like them to keep it for future call out of pay me back. I still think the R850 was a way overcharge for fixing just with silicon but in any case I chose to pay me back but after several sms and emails I have still not been paid back. My last email was not even answered. I really do not know what to think. I have been using them for the last 8 years at 3 of my properties :-( <br> <br> <br>
