Dewhot - Redeemed
I would like to report back regarding the response I received from Dewhot since my previous review. After some time of silence, I was contacted by phone. Dewhot apologised and asked of me if I would accept a replacement geyser. I accepted the apology and received a new unit. It is installed and I am happy to say that it is working properly - similar to my first geyser. Dewhot, it took a little ‘back and forth’, but you redeemed yourselves in a civilised manner. Thank you for restoring trust in your product.

Disappointing after sales service
I have had a 16l Constant Temp geyser for almost 3 years now and am very happy with the performance. Based on the experience with the 16l, I recently bought a 12l Constant Temp geyser from the Durban factory. This geyser responded very quickly, reached the set temp and stabilised quicker than the 16l. However, only for 3 minutes before it shut off. I tried 2 x new regulators as well as new batteries to no avail. After just 3 days I returned it to the factory - and now the struggle. I was even told that I would have to pay for the repair to an ‘un-tampered with’ unit. I demanded a refund instead of a replacement, for I really do not wish to deal with people whose warranty does not seem to be worth much. And now, Dewhot have gone silent..

Great product knowledge!
Just before Christmas one of our gas geysers wouldn't work and we live miles from anywhere. Four of us tried different ideas with no success. None of the gas mechanics in the area had time to come out and help. We considered buying a new geyser when someone advised us to phone Dewhot. An amazing woman by the name of Carmen from their Joburg office, steeped us through things to try. She certainly knows her product and lo and behold the geyser worked.

Dewhot LP gas geyser temp fluctuations
I had a 16 liter constant temp LP gas geyser installed in Oct 2023. The first 2.5 months it used 19 kg gas but since then the usage increased to 19kg gas a month. Constant temperature fluctuations, hot to cold and hot again, was experienced often with the temp increased to 60 degrees and then suddenly went cold and back to warm again (temp set at 46 deg). After a year the installer eventualy replaced the temp controller unit . After that the gas usage was less but temp fluctuations still occured occasionally. Today the temp increased to 80 degrees, later dropped to 70 untill the water tap was closed. When the tap was opened again the temp increased to 47 and remained there (normal).
