Very bad service and unfriendly account department staff. My account was handed over to the lawyers while I was not aware. Firstly it was my husband who was hospitalised last year in July, he is on my medical aid. The funds ran out on the medical aid and my husband made an arrangement with them to pay in installments because he is currently unemployed. He paid until November and he stopped because that’s when he was hospitalised again in a public hospital and it’s been 2 months. Then I just received a call from an attorney that my account is handed over. Explained to them that I did not receive any letter from the hospital about this account and for it to be handed over. I phone the account department and they were so rude. The letters were sent to my husband’s email address who is currently lying in ICU. But they have my details, they could have phone me and email me and it’s worse because the amount outstanding is now doubled. They are so insensitive and our South African Healthcare system is a disgrace especially to the unemployed. They are not even willing to listen and help. I’m so disappointed with them.

I was involved in a bike accident last year and my medical aid did not pay as I was still on trial, I then made a payment abut despite that I was handed over to the VAN RHYNS ATTORNEYS by Netcare Sunninghill through DOCTORS NAY AND PICCOLO INC, i have sent so many emails and I paid, even last month I received another email which was fro radiology and made another payment. This morning j just received an email saying I’m being handed over, this is damaging to my name. I spent less than 3 hours in the ED but they have made my life hell this last 10 months, this is the worst experience I ever had from a private hospital.

This is the worst place to deal with , they have incorrect records they fail to do there work and hand over quickly if the attorney can trace me why did the admin or accounts department no do there work, furthermore they expect you to pay legal fees for them being lazy. They are rude and inconsiderate lazy people who are doing the admin, they have no logic or rationale. They failed to contact Milpark as tehy have all my corrected details. Dr's Nay & Piccolo please get people that understand the accounting process and can apply themselves correctly with there work environment. As a patient we would have to select who we would want to treat us to avoid this situation, why is that all other service providers at Milpark Hospital have the correct patient details because admissions update the records so i am surprized that Dr's Nay & Piccolo dont verify these important details. Furthermore Van Ryns Attorneys want to charge you legal fees for them handling the matter its like everyone want to just take you hard earned cash for themselves due to *********** work ethics.

Their admin don't do their work properly. Even with my bank sending them advices that their accounts have been paid they keep sending me treatening letters that they will blacklist me - and I have already paid - timeously on receipt of account!! When I telephoned to correct their mistake, the woman was extremely rude to me.

Treated at Netcare Milpark ER, paid all my bills, months later learned I'd been handed over to Van Rhyns Attorneys for debt collection on a bill from Drs Nay and Piccolo) that was never sent to me, an error in email address from accounts side) after I wrote to them to follow up on a suspicious sms message. Having received the original bill from Nay and Piccolo (after reaching out) I can see that Van Rhyns are charging close to double the bill without acknowledgement or statement of added fees (although I have repeatedly asked for a full statement). After I gave them correct details, they have repeatedly called my emergency medical contact (although I have repeatedly stated that I do not consent to the number being used in this way and instructed them not to do this and to use email). The Whatsapp contact at Van Rhyn (I've been contact by 3 of their people none of whom seem to be communicating with each other) noted they could offer an (unspecified) discount on fees, then, afer I followed up, sent me an email with the full (inflated) amount on it, still no statement. When I queried (again asking for a statement) they said that they "can send it formally via email if this suits you well." They keep pushing me to pay without a statement. I'm appalled that Nay and Piccolo take no responsibility for their error and continue to hand over people to what appears to be an ************ and unprofessional partner/legal service, after other users have recorded numerous similar experiences.

I took my Daughter to Netcare waterfall hospital on the 11th May and brought her again on the 16th of may for the same condition. The child was misdiagnosed and her condition was getting worse. The nurse who helped me open the file for the second time said since it’s a follow up visit I will be charged less. My daughter was first diagnosed with flu and we were given prescription for flu, when I brought her the second time, the other doctor said she does not have flu, she has allergies, and we were offered the new prescription for allergies which is working. We stopped using the meds we were initially told to use. I was then surprised that I was charged same amount for both consultation where it was stated that it’s a follow up of the same condition, and I was told a follow up would be less. I phoned the hospital and I was given the email address and contact number of a Karen@ed247.co.za. I sent her an email. 7 day later i called to find out if she has seen my email and if there is anything she is doing about it. The lady was so rude, telling me she has 10000 patience to take care of, firstly she is not a doctor looking after patience, and as if i am not part of that 10 000 accounts that she has to deal with. I tried to tell her Mam, that's not how you speak to your customers. she did not want to be told that and she started shouting again. at this rate i do not think she is going to look at my account.

That’s not the point my issue is today I receive an email from the accounts department informing me that I owe them R800 for scans . I don’t have a problem with paying for the scans however I never received my baby scans from the doctor she informed me they were out of paper . I want to now understand what I’m paying for because I don’t have the scans in my possession I called the reception and the lady was rude to me and told me I should take it up with the x-ray department . Which I have no idea how to get hold of those people as this transpired between me and the doctor . They allowed us to leave and never told us to pay. We could have paid while we were still there but nothing was communicated . Now they keep on calling me and my family harassing us trying to charge me for a service they have not rendered .
