Good day, Last week I took my husband to see Dr Conrad Smith on Friday evening. He had been sick for 3 weeks with what I assumed to be a terrible sinus infection. Unfortunately my husband is extremely dedicated to work so he had not been yet. I had been to conrad since I was a child, as has the rest of my family. Back when he was a modest and caring doctor. It would appear that now money is all that matters. His consult alone was over R600 which I had to pay cash as they do not accept medical aids. Which I did t mind so much, as long as my husband would get better..... Well after being seen 40 minutes after our scheduled appointment we got too spend all of 5 minutes in his room, we were ut off everytime we wanted to speak, my husband's ears weren't checked despite ear ache, his temp wasn't checked despite running fevers, his sinuses and glads were not felt for any inflammation.... He was thrown with a script of an anti-biotic from Cipla that I had never heard of (no doubt some new drug brought in y reps with great commission) and some demazin, oh and a nasal decongestant even though we told him we have been through 3 bottles already. Well the meds finished on Wednesday and guess what.... Brendon is still sick. We also asked him if he would be able to do a blood test to check the prostate or do we need to go to a urologist, he went on about polymers in the blood or something and we still don't know if he is actually capable or only a specialist. Guess I'll ask the next go that I take Brendon to. Unfortunately it would appear that the IV bar and botox have made conrad forget how he got to where he is. How disappointing. Although for 3 years of my life as a teenager I was on deaths door and he treated me throughout my hasimotos and before and after my thyroid removal, when I asked him about something regarding the medication I'm on he told me it's so strange I am on that because only people who have their thyroid removed require that... WHAT!!! zero bedside manner, zero compassion, zero interest, fat wallet. That is who Dr conrad Smith has become.
