We are travelers from abroad who were involved in a motor vehicle accident and admitted to the emergency room at Netcare Christiaan Barnard Hospital on Sunday, 29/12/2024, at 17:30. What followed was an absolutely unacceptable experience. After being assessed and confirmed that our injuries are not urgent or critical, we were forced to wait for HOURS in the ER. We only finished our treatments at 2:00 AM – more than 8 hours after arriving. During this time, we received little to no communication, and the only explanation provided was that "another doctor had been called" – yet, we continued to wait endlessly. After our treatments, we were discharged with no medical reports or proof of our hospital admission, which is critical for our travel insurance claim. The following morning (Monday), we submitted requests for our medical reports, expecting them within their stated turnaround time of 3-5 working days. Unfortunately, it has been far longer, and we are still waiting! We have been met with rude and unhelpful reception staff who make empty promises and give excuse after excuse as to why the reports have not been sent. We’ve made multiple calls daily, and despite paying for our treatments without hesitation, the doctors' office cannot even provide the basic documentation we need within their own timelines. So far, we have only received 1 out of the 3 reports requested. This level of unprofessionalism is shocking. We needed these reports urgently, and instead, we’ve had to endure frustration, delays, and poor service from both the doctors and their office staff. Avoid the Dr Carstens and De Jager at Netcare Christiaan Barnard Hospital at all costs! Their lack of care, organization, and respect for patients' time is beyond disappointing.

This is such an ********* and inefficient administration! Not only am I being told to pay for bills that have been paid but I am also being charged R510 for every single administration request. I broke my foot in Feb 2024 and had to pay R510 for the PMB application assistance and was then told that I had to pay a further R510 to get the clinical report that Discovery requested as part of the PMB claim! I am getting SICK of private doctors charging patients for administration request when they are reasonable and few and far in-between!

Received an SMS months later telling me that I still owe above R600 for a emergency hospital visit (just over 3 months to be more accurate), with a failure to pay resulting in my account being handed over to debt collectors. This amount is ABOVE the +R800 that had already been paid to the hospital itself. No invoices received - just a rude SMS. Speaking with the receptionist is shockingly unhelpful. Ended with me shouting "BULL****" over the phone because this amount appears out of nowhere (again 3-4 months after the hospital visit). No previous communications that this payment would need to be paid. No means of sending through proofs of payment. Not at the hospital, and nothing received afterwards. I even thought it was still the amount from the hospital invoice that was in question, I was so confused. Reading every other review only adds to the anger and frustration - so this happens a lot? The receptionist will need to deal with more than "bull****" being thrown her way considering how these Doctors manage themselves and their accounts. I hope she finds better work.

Most disgraceful bedside manner from the Dr de Jager. She was totally dismissive of me, despite being there for a horribly high fever. She simply barged unto the exam room without introduction and just said "what's wrong". Very very rude, the only reason I went to blouberg was because I couldn't wait the 20min drive to milnerton. If it weren't for the nice nursing staff I'd have worse things to share!

Shocking admin. I made an arrangement to settle the final (small) amount due on a medical bill from June. Apparently that's not good enough. Account was settled in full on 15th Oct. and now I'm being constantly harassed by attornyes because they handed me over for R228! So much for making a payment arrangement! Don't recommend this practice to anyone.

Just received a rude sms notifying that I must pay an amount of R115,50 to avoid being black listed. No invoice sent to me, no detail of anything. I dont even know what it is. I see lots of comments about them. When you phone the office power google phone number no reply. Disgraceful etiquette and admin process for the company or a very good scam to make you pay for something you don't know about.

I recently visited the casualty section of this clinic where I was a patient and asked the receptionist for information if I would receive any bills not paid by my medical aid. I was a patient and always feel that as a patient you are entitled to know if you will be responsible for paying any outstanding doctors fees not covered by the medical aid or have a choice to be treated by a doctor that is within the scheme rates. I was rather dissatisfied that I was not given this information prior to being treated as I feel it's highly unfair to be send a bill now as I certainly have not planned for this payment and am currently unemployed.
